Too many times I want to SEE the drawing but I don't want it to be selectable in the Mission Editor. The only way I know to prevent accidental mouse grabs (and the obvious lack of UNDO here rears it's head again) is to turn that drawing OFF, but then, I can't see it. This is especially annoying when drawing areas of enemy detection or patrol areas, but still wanting to draw borders or other information inside of the area. A miss hit with the mouse 'grab' will grab the area and move it. Meaning aligned things are now misaligned. A simple 'lock layer' or padlock either in the 'Figures' table or in the Draw Panel for that drawing would suffice.

It would be most effective if further peripheral controllers were permitted to be bound to the F10 Coordinate Picker tool. Currently, it is only permitted to be bound to keyboard. Further controllers like throttle and sticks would be great. Mainly however, mouse controls would be most effective and a natural place to bind such a tool. Myself, I have an extra 5 buttons on my mouse I could bind to this otherwise very excellent tool

Found a cheapo handheld wireless trackball on Amazon and have just hot-glued it to the top of my warthog stick. (Hot glue having the advantage of setting totally rigid in seconds and being fairly easy to completely remove - I use it all the time in my workshop for temporary jigs) Ok, looks a bit weird but works well and positioned there it doesn't get in the way of any of my stick controls. The trigger in the loophole is left click, which is nice as you can click while your thumb's on the ball, and there are 2 right click buttons one either side of the scroll wheel. The top buttons are hard coded as escape and enter. Taking a bit of getting used to but I already prefer it to reaching for my desk mouse in VR. The hot glue bond is actually strong enough for me to be able to manouver the stick while holding it by the trackball grip

What makes using the mouse in the cockpit much more difficult, is when the headshake of the pilot moves the mouse as well, e.g. during rough maneuvers. So how about an option to scroll the mouse independently of the player head movement along a sphere around the pilot's head? The center mouse button should recenter the mouse pointer in the player's center of view, if he looses it.

I start the game in small window mode then I go to full screen after the plane/map/weather, and everything else is loaded. In the small window the mouse is accurate and it can perform all of the functions over the switches and buttons and use the mouse wheel functions. When I press Left Alt+Enter the accuracy is gone. This is just as of yesterdays 2.7 update, though in the previous version I would have to click the left mouse button to get it to function properly in any new window in full screen. Thanks for any help, this makes the game unplayable

99% sure it didn't used to work like that. Rotary is available with keyboard binding ("[1]") (was it always?). Fix: remove rotary when mouse clicking. Ie remove jumps from first-last and last-first while mouse clicking. Is mouse click rotary a new feature? Make more sense if it didn't (again 99% sure it didn't used to).

I have only attempted this in the F18 and in multiplayer. This happens in Beta, which i guess is the only version updated to 2.7 now. Thanks for any help, this makes the game unplayable

First, I haven't changed anything that I'm aware of, have rebooted, and checked for upgrades on everything. I jumped into Combined Arms today and out of the blue my mouse does not control the turrets anymore, can't aim at anything. Turret will move with keys but not the mouse. Will not work with any ground vehicle with a movable gun. Mouse works perfectly on everything else including other applications. I just don't get it. Makes it impossible to go out and kill against other Tactical Commanders. Anyone experience this or have a solution. I can't figure it out.

Hello. I haven't played DCS for awhile and when i came back and installed the updates, i noticed a breaking change in view controls. I have neither head-tracking nor VR headset (yet) so i use mouse for free look. In previous versions i was able to use the mouse for both the free look and clicking the cockpit by toggling between those with a "Force cursor to show" (default: Alt+C). It was not ideal, but it worked. However with the newest version the Alt+C shortcut added a third mode, which is moving around the cockpit (strafe left/right/up/down), so now i have to press Alt+C (which is also binded to my mouse middle button) two times to switch from free look to cockpit control, and two times to get back to free look. This adds so much overhead for me that it's impossible to do in a fight anymore. How do you guys do it when you don't have a head-tracking and you need to look around and click cockpit at the same time? Why don't we simply get a view mode, where the mouse is used for free look and the cursor always stays in the middle, so that you chose which button to click by looking around instead of by moving the cursor across the screen? Same way as how it was done for example in Doom 3 or Quake 4 when you aproached some control panel.

The current control scheme is pretty unfriendly to users without a Head Tracking or VR Headset who want to look around with mouse. There are 2 separate modes for the mouse - freelook mode in which the mouse is used for looking around and cursor mode in which you can click buttons in the cockpit - which you can toggle between with Alt+C by default. However during a fight for example this is pretty uncomfortable and impractical, because you have to constatly switch the modes back and forth. And it doesn't help that now one click is not enough, you have to double-click. Why can't we simply get a mode in which the mouse controls the view and there is a cursor that stays always in the middle of the screen, so that you chose which button to click by actually looking at it, instead of moving the cursor across the screen? Simmilarly to how it works here This would mean you would need just one mode and there would be no switching, because you would be able to look around and click buttons at the same time.

Hi, I am a big fan of playing games and I want to check the mouse cursor acceleration to perform better in playing games. I need a best tool to check the speed. I search on internet and found this tool https://tecagile.com/mouse-speed-acceleration-test/ but I am not sure it is best or not? Kindly someone test mouse cursor acceleration and tell me it is working good or not? Thanks

Dear Friends , I am struggling to progress in this masterpiece . 1. I bought too many modules (that is on me ) 2. I cannot switch between mouse look ( great for fine movements over switches ) and headtracking (just great for every thing else ) I can turn off head tracking with a hotkey , but at that point the mouse will not allow mouse movement to move the camera around the cockpit . With headtracking I can look around (and zoom with a slider on my hotas ) but I cannot stay still enough to easily flick switches . When I watch tutorial vids its obvious that there is a better way to do it . I know I can go into controls , clear the head track controls and get the mouse to work but I really want to change between the two methods on the fly . Alternatively, if anyone can suggest another way I will be hugely grateful , I have an embarrassing total of hours in this thing but am still dangerously rubbish (despite actually flying a fair amount in real life ..not military I hasten to add ) 3. Greedy but ALSO ! Snap views obviously are just that , a quick look , how can you set up (or can you ) custom views of , say, a panel , and then be able to have a cursor to click on the switches ?? Thanks , happy flying and if you ever see a confused looking plane fly into the ground its probably me , Di

Bug or not. Manual states: Nothing happens when clicking (left or right button) but gyro adjusts with mouse wheel. Manual erroneous or push-in feature missing? Tag as "Directional Gyro" (tip popup and ADJUST CONTROLS naming differs).

Since the latest open beta I have very much lag with the mouse in menus and mission editor. It is not constantly lagging, more like few seconds laggy and than normal for some seconds. The game itself runs without lag. I use MT in single player with F15E installed. My mouse is an Alienware 610M wireless, which runs without problems in other games and also before the last update everything worked fine.
