Hi everyone, Just a minor request - both Saipan and Rota Intl. airports feature airport identification beacons, that currently aren't present in DCS. Saipan Here's the FAA website page on Saipan International Airport, it includes an airport diagram, with the position of the beacon marked (the 5 pointed star). The beacon is like a small lighthouse, mounted on a guyed pole, that flashes green and white and rotates at a rate of between 24-30RPM. The beacon is active between sunrise and sunset. Source. Here's a birdseye view, taken from Google Earth, I've circled the beacon in red: And here's essentially the same shot in DCS (-camera 180.413796 0.311381 101.060448 -cameradir -0.038673 -0.999246 0.003370): Note that the beacon isn't there, and the area is instead covered with trees that aren't there. Also note the multi-faceted radome in the bottom of the image, where there is in fact a small fuel tank (at least from March 2016 onwards). Fortunately Google Earth also has a very good streetview image of the beacon: And here's the same shot in DCS (-camera 180.404211 0.066700 101.085965 -cameradir -0.004077 0.080065 -0.996781): Obviously the beacon isn't there, but also notice that the area has a load of trees and foliage that shouldn't be there (the area should just be short grass). Tinian Like Saipan, Tinian also has a similar beacon, it has the same characteristics as Saipan. Source. Here's a birdseye view of the beacon, taken from Google Earth (beacon circled in red): And here's the same shot in DCS (-camera 166.321578 0.798042 90.293875 -cameradir -0.000000 -1.000000 -0.000000): Note that this area is a dirt track - in Google Earth it just looks like a grass clearing. Rota According to this, Rota also has an airport beacon, with again, the same characteristics. It can also be seen in this airport diagram: According to this it should be in the south-western corner of the apron, however I'm unsure where it is exactly (the area is cluttered with buildings and satellite imagery doesn't make it obvious where it is, there's also no streetview of the area or images readily available). Here's a satellite image sourced from Google Earth, I've circled in yellow where I think the beacon might be: And here's the same area in DCS (-camera 75.597527 0.362317 48.815373 -cameradir -0.050311 -0.998734 0.000000):

Hi everyone, Another issue I've found on the Marianas maps - that being the model for the NDBs. At the moment they're these absolutely gigantic lattice towers that look nothing like the real thing. They also have a LOD that makes them basically invisible until you're less than a km away from it (though this might be my display - it's tiny). The one on Guam is a small building with a triangular lattice tower that's probably a third of the height of the tower that's currently there. Incidentally the terrain mesh looks off - Google Earth at least thinks it's roughly level with the road, and is essentially flat - here it's a fairly significant ditch. This isn't so much of a problem though - because it is less noticeable. The one at Rota International Airport is again, a much thinner mast, that's probably a third of the height - this is the best RL image I can find of it: Compared to this (-camera 75.618393 0.231608 48.282757 -cameradir -0.148210 -0.165008 0.975093): Obviously more zoomed in, because at the distance of the RL shot, the LOD makes it basically invisible - track posted below. Then there's the one at Saipan - easily the worst of the 3, not only is it the same massive tower, but it's positioned almost directly on the approach path into runway 7 of Saipan International Airport. The actual mast is a small, white, guyed, triangular lattice tower, that's looks to be about double the height of your average light-pole/street-lamp. Or about 1/6th of the height (if that) of the huge lattice tower that's currently there. The geometry also seems off, according to google street view, the area is in a bit of ditch but a barely noticeable one. Here's a google street-view of the site: And here's essentially the same shot in DCS (-camera 179.211235 0.043152 99.909885 -cameradir 0.125941 0.018311 -0.991869) Notice that there's also a load of electrical objects present where there aren't (the actual site only has 3-4 objects - the antenna, 2 very small buildings and a wooden pole (?). The geometry also seems off as well, it's much more flat IRL by the looks of it than in DCS. Hell, maybe that was intentional - because if it was correct it would definitely be interfering with the approach path. And here is it in relation to runway 7 at Saipan International (-camera 179.100563 0.105914 99.596342 -cameradir 0.346104 -0.047823 0.936976): Saipan's_Enormous_NDB.trk EDIT: This should've been posted in the bugs and issues section.

Greetings saw on hoggit and old rumblings to add an ILS to any runway by creating a beacon type over an object with scripting. Having a heck of a time getting it to work. Hopefully someone in the community is way better than I with the scripting. Please anyone any ideas adding an ILS to a runway without editing the core Beacons.lua. Maybe @Grimes or anyone has had better luck Added just an object, named the static here is my reference https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/DCS_command_activateBeacon my code throwing errors or doesn’t work
