a mid to late 1980s/early 90s F-18A would really help fill out those iconic scenarios and conflicts the earlier hornets took part in like desert storm/ operation el dorado canyon/operation deny flight etc that we cant quite do with our 2006 F-18C due to advanced systems we cant reliably remove or limit in the mission editor like the jhmcs or link-16 and missing equipment we've already been told wont be getting on our current hornet like the nitehawk tgp on top of other differences like the radar or engines an F-18A from this timeframe would complement our current 18C very well by giving us a much better reach into virtually any legacy hornet operation throughout all of it's service life with the A filling in early scenarios and the C taking good care of everything after the year 2000, give us better access to simulating some more export hornet users like spain, canada and australia who all used the 18A as their main fighter aircraft for a substantial ammount of time and finish perfecting the DCS legacy hornet experience with both variants being relevant to their own thing and with little space for one to end up eclipsing the other. If money was a concern with this idea something similar to what heatblur plans to do with their naval phantom variants or something similar to what was done with the A-10C2 or BS3 upgrades could be considered and the 18A could be added as something like a separate add-on or module rather than be fully integrated into the F-18C module, the interest for something like this seems to exist from a good part of the community given the ammount of content and discourse there is around these earlier operations and conflicts involving the earlier F-18s both in multiplayer and singleplayer environments so i think it would be liked and do well either way

Ok, so I am a HUGE fan of the P-61 Black Widow that Northrop developed during the Second World War, for lots of reasons. Despite being introduced late in the war due to some production issues on Northrops end, it was fairly successful despite existing in a very target deficient environment, and was well loved by the crews that operated in her. It was used both as an interceptor, and ground pounder. Despite having a post war reputation for being sluggish, this was not the opinion at the time among those who flew her. In one instance it famously out ran an RAF Mosquito in a friendly competition. This is to say despite its size, it was a very capable aircraft in the heavy fighter/nightfighter roll. Unfortunately the early A models were plagued with issues that limited their ability and applicability. Thankfully, later A models, and especially the B/C models fixed most of the issues it had that often are only revealed with combat data. This is a long winded way to arrive at why I believe it's a perfect fit for DCS. With the upcoming release of the infamous de Havilland Mosquito, the precedent for heavy fighters is officially established. Obviously I wouldn't expect the P-61 to be the next heavy fighter in the game, as there are other more influential heavy fighters from other nations that should be implemented. Both the Japanese and Germans fielded large fleets of diverse heavy fighters for a variety of mission types. But, the P-61 should in my opinion be seriously considered because... It offers several unique gameplay opportunities. The first being aerial radar. It was the first plane specifically designed to take advantage of radar. It also had a gunner who sat aft of the cockpit. Both the gunner and the radio/radar operator could aim and control the dorsal 360° turret, that had 90° elevation. They could aim it with swiveling posts attached to their seats that had gyroscopic collimator sight assemblies, and the triggers. The pilot also had the option to lock the turret forward for more forward fire power. Needless to say both the radar/radio operator and the gunner would provide fairly unique gameplay opportunities compared to other WW2 planes, especially among fighters/heavy fighters. Imagine you and your buddies are dispatched at night to intercept a flight of bombers. You take off and climb to altitude. Your buddy on the radar guides you to your target, then you dive down on your surprised foe as you and the gunner open up on them with your 4 20 mm cannons and 4 .50 browing machine guns. Or, its day time and you are dispatched with a few thousand lbs of bombs to raid enemy supply lines and support allied efforts on the front. The team dynamics, and the mission types you could run present unique gameplay loops and I believe that would be only a good thing for the game. This is all to say that the P-61 is an incredibly beautiful, and unique aircraft that would bring its own flavor to a game that seems to have been designed to implement it. Its unfortunate production issues prevented it from being implemented earlier in the war, as I believe like the Mosquito it would have proved to be a versatile platform, and would have a similar lasting mythology associated with it. Build this aircraft for the game, and I think you would have a lot of new fans of one of the coolest planes ever built. I know I for one would spend a irresponsible amount of money for the chance to sit in her cockpit.

Ok, I will begin this post with my system specs because there are definitely oddities in my FPS as will be shown latter. Cpu: Ryzen 3600 w/ stock cooler oc at 4.2 Mobo: Msi X570 Tomahawk GPU: Power Color rx 6800 Psu: 650 watt gold cert 32gb CL 16 3600 ram all in a airflow friendly case Game settings are Point Blank’s rx 5700xt settings. I play on a 1080p monitor. With these components I used to (On the f/a 18 free flight) get about 180 FPS in Caucuses. This performance stopped pre 2.7 in 2.5.6. Now at dialed back settings from before I am seeing 70-75 FPS. I have tried every fix me or the group I play with has thought of and haven’t found a fix. I have even gone so far as to completely reinstall my computer’s operating system. I am looking for any help I can get. I have updated, repaired, and cleaned dcs, but nothing seems to work. Please leave any suggestions.

for the love of god, this feature is really important this thing alone makes helicopters insanely difficult to play for no reason you have multiple sets of eyes in the helicopter, in the huey its 4, and you have awareness of a horse wearing blinders

Hello guys, Ive tried everything for a few hours now, and this is basically one of my last hopes: I want to change the sound of the G-breathing in the cockpit (F16 or any other plane). Now I would have thought that you only have to exchange the files but that doesn’t work. Please Help me if you have an Idea.

Hello, I am a new player to DCS world. I really like the game it's a lot of fun but really hard. Like it's hard for me to control the plane and remember the key binds etc. So my question is there like a beginner mode so you can control the plane where it is going with your mouse and you don't have to remember all keybinds just a few or something like that?
