Started trying Su-33 carrier landing /takeoff today. Seems I've had 1 random explosion just taxiing and 2 random damage, one parked and one taxiing. Is this a known thing? Edit/add: Make that 3 random damage. One more just taxiing. -
I just really want a Russian naval aircraft like Yak-38 or Su-33 that's full fidelity. Does anyone know if this is possible, or when it might be possible given they will have to abide by Russian law? I know they are working on MiG-29A but Su-33 isn't too far off is it?

Hi there, DCS 2.7.6.13436 crashes with an access violation. It's the Su-33 Heavy Sky (hs_su33_17_v2.0.miz) The log then says: The system has determined the overflow of a stack-based buffer in this application. Not enough virtual memory. Application error: The instruction in 0x00007FFA1FA22E3C referenced memory at 0x0000000000000070. The operation written could not be carried out in the main memory. All driver bios are up to date. There is a bug where contacts that are in direct visibility and are not obscured by terrain from AWACS do not appear at all on datalink (while being called out by this very AWACS) Also contacts that are visible at some point in time dissapear from DL for no reason ( same altitude, speed and direction and in direct AWACS visibility moment after dissapearing from DL screen. And well within detection range and parameters) To reappear random time after that(few dozens of seconds to few minutes) when at the moment of subsequent appearance its detection parameters are already deteriorated. That goes for both friendlies and bandits. Happens on Su-27,Su-33,J-11A. FlankersDatalinkBug

Weirdness. I can trap wire offline without much difficulty. Just trapped 5 times in a row 1st attempt OFFLINE (a specific experiment performed just now). Generally I trap offline fine. Online I succeed on Stennis ONLINE with some regularity but Kuznetsov ... I just ran out of fuel twice going around and around Kuznetsov ... I can't remember ever trapping Kuznetsov ONLINE. No specific bug report forum Su-33 ... therefore no "bug report" tag ... yet. Just asking, what's happening? The obvious question, just me or can everybody else trap Kuznetsov in Multiplayer?

Hi all, after completing my "Su33 Cockpit Instrument Reflection Mod" that reduced and/or eliminated the reflection from the Su-33 dials and gauges (found at: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313194/), I heard from some pilots who requested I do the same for the Flanker's HDD. Happy to oblige! Since the HDD reflection is defined by altering a different cockpit file, I decided to create this as a sister-mod to the gauge and dial reflection mod. You don't need the other mod to alter the reflection of the HDD, but they definitely go together to address the whole cockpit reflection gauge/dial/HDD look which many feel is too pronounced and difficult to read clearly. The only way there is to have "sensitive" aircraft in the game is to have them in Combined Arms(CA) format. That would be so sick if ED would add few of modernized Red birds this way. No docks required, just publicly available performance data from manufacturer, plus videos of working MFDs and HUD that are all over youtube. Plus hundreds of Cockpit pictures. With nonclickable cockpit and sometimes simle flight model. Playable ground units in CA are not even Low Fidelity and still have their place and purpose in gameplay. And fun to play too.Imagine if ED made airplane modules for CA and sold them for the price of FC3 modules! I`d buy them all. And i know there are many many guys that would gladly give their cash for those birds. There are few dozen of thousands of buyers craving for each of those many modern jets you can give them this way. There is a ton of cash to be made this way that could be spent on creating other FF modules. ED already has a lot of non flyable AI "sensitive" jets that would be right at home in CA as flyable modules. Withought any procecution from government. Man the planes we could have then! J-11B,J-15, Various Russian multirole Flankers and Fulcrums.( even Mig-35 and Su-35) Mig-31, gen 4++, gen 5 -man list goes on and on. There are so many possibilities that CA brings to the table as a product. Many of desired jet versions have allready most of the elements present in DCS. (airframes, weapons simple and pro flight models) The only missing parts are the cockpits which in many cases could be a bit remodelled from existing ones in case of Flankers and Fulcrums. 100 percent legit and viable solution to this everlasting problem. Hope devs will give it a good thought and will make it happen.

Hi! I am a new player and I am wondering what module I should get. Because It is cheap, I will only be getting one of the FC3 aircraft (A10A, F15, Su27/J11, Su33 and Mig29). I have created a poll as to which aircraft I should buy and could I ask you why you chose that option in the discussion below. Thanks!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: I figured out that I need to own the Super Carrier DLC to use the 2017 Version. My question then is, where is the non-SC Version of this mission?! Are you really trying to force people to buy this stupid DLC by advertising the SU-33 as capable of operating from the russian carrier on the steam page, only to then not offer mission variants that use the base games version of the carrier?? I paid for the SU-33 and the Syria map, and you are telling me you went out of your way to replace the carrier that works for everyone with the DLC version just to get even more money out of me?! Why is there no automatic mechanism that replaces the carrier with the SC version ONLY IF the SC DLC is owned?! Or at least offer a separate version of the mission using the old carrier! Why would I spend 30$ on a DLC that adds US Carriers only to restore functionality to my SU-33 that existed and worked before you CHOSE to kneecap that?! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The player is supposed to spawn on the russian carrier but instead spawns above it in mid-flight.
