Currently the TNDL STN and TNDL members (outside of the flight itself, if multiple flights exist inside of a static template) aren't saved within the template, this sucks because it makes it harder for mission creators to easily create a standardized set of STNs for flights between missions outside of manually setting the STNs between every AC which can be time consuming and tedious. Sure you can use the ones generated by the ME and they do 'work' but the only way to know another flights STN is to have them already in your jet as members or have the other flight read them out to you which can clog up the radio. So it's either use the generated ones or have the mission creator spend time before the mission to go through every flight and set the STN which can take a while for larger squadrons with 30+ players per mission. I think this would be an overall QoL update for squadron mission creators that don't give access to the full .miz to Flight Leads that create templates to send over to the MC for importing into the real .miz.

I just discovered this 'statictemplate' thing ..... copied a *.stm file with WW2 stuff, made on the Channel map, to my DCS.openbeta\StaticTemplate folder. Now i wanted to import this whole caboose to a NEW empty Normandy Map 2.0 mission but it seems impossible. Is such a template per definition only map related, in this case the channel map? ... Any tips ? Thnx. ADDED: I changed the line ["theatre"] = "The Channel" to ["theatre"] = "Normandy" with notepad++ in the *.stm file, and it worked ! Of course the locations are not right, but it might be useful anyhow. PS can you select or combine more than one differing item, like a group of Flak AAA and parked vehicles etc. some how and drag them together to a different location?

The old template, and how all of my current skins are formatted, consisted of two files labeled diff. The current downloadable texture template has 8 or so main files, which are not oriented in a similar fashion to the old files. Additionally, attempting to paste the new partsover the old template, the vertical stab for example, the lines do not line up, resulting in a skewed model. So, my question is is there a layered template still floating around with the two file format? Or is there a new lua that incorporates the stack of new template files? Thanks

Hi everyone, Would it be possible to make the payload restrictions persistent? Such that they retain the same settings when creating new missions or when you exit and reopen DCS? At least as an option. Even better would be a template system we can use, that allows us to save the settings of multiple aircraft, and have it saved as part of a profile. It should go without saying that a "restore default" option would also be needed in this case.

reported Stop and Deploy as Template not working anymore ?
vctpil posted a topic in Mission Editor Bugs
Hi, Few month ago, I just tested the function Stop and Deploy as Template. I try to do the same today, but it is not working. Anybody has the same problem ? Thanks, Vincent -
im making a entire Syria map template using satellite photos. It will be jam packed with everything i can possibly add, it is in its very early stages but it still has several air fields and sam sites, take a look if your interested and follow the creation if you wish. (a link to my discord and more info is in the description of this video i chucked together in an hour) also if you use the template please put a credit in the briefing of the mission so in the description if you make any YouTube videos using it edit for some reason the youtube video got taken down so in the mean time im just going to copy pase the description here untill its back up BOOM's Syria map template is a template for dcs syria that adds every Sam site, every airport, support vehicles for those sams, tank battalions and static airfield aircraft. it is in its very early stage at this point only about 8 air basses are complete out of about 50 and 10 Sam sites are complete out of ~70+. BSMT is designed to be the base to build more mission on top of whether it be a fictional war or a Russian strike mission or you can just add some aircraft and have some fun with your buds i should mention its only in very early alpha but it can be downloaded here and it is updated as soon as i add stuff (almost daily) updated Download here ---------- https://discord.gg/HXMq2R4e3x ---------- edit 2 new video up BSMT 0_15_IAF update.miz

Hey everybody, I've been trying this out for the last couple days, no luck, so I'm posting it here. A few days ago when I opened mission editor all my saved templates, including the stock ED templates, were gone. At the same time I also lost all my favorites and passwords to multi-player servers. Now this really sucks, because I make most of the squadron missions, and I had dozens of premade templates saved. I'm putting this here because I don't know what happened. It's possible I did something, but I wouldn't have messed with the template Lua files on purpose, or even accidently if I was paying any attention. But I'm not discounting that it happened because I did something. However, I'm pretty sure it wasn't me. I was (that day) working with the mist, ctld, csar Lua files, but again, I don't see any reason why I would have wiped my templates file and my server passwords file. Everything was fine, then my game crashed in multi-player. I tried to log back on, and all my favorites were gone. The next day I found I was missing all my unit templates. (Like ALL OF THEM, 100% wiped) Anyway, if this has happened to anyone else, or anyone knows why this might have happened, please let me know. Until then, I'll be remaking dozens of unit templates and saving them... FYI: I'm making a mission with all the units and groups set out and I'll be posting it in the mission files when I get most of my templates remade, in case someone else wants them, or this has happened to anyone else. Thanks again, see you in the skies.

Hi all, so I have been trying to create some basic reskins from the DCS template by turning off and on certain layers to change the tail/unit designations and resave and export the files to put into their individual livery folders. So I created the 4 units 69th, 93rd, 96th and 343rd; I also used model viewer 2 to create a basic LUA file for each folder/texture but only the first folder/livery for the 69th showed up and this livery still wont let me turn off the default markings (still with the new ones underneath). I have been watching tutorials for skinning but I cannot find anything covering how to write the description.lua file to turn off the defaults. So here is what the model viewer created: livery = { {"texture B-52_Okras.bmp f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "B-52_Okras", false}; {"texture b-52_okras.bmp f2050 g0", DIFFUSE , "B-52_Okras", false}; {"texture parashut.tga f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "parashut", false}; {"texture LONGER-DAMAG.bmp f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "LONGER-DAMAG", false}; {"texture USAF.tga f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "USAF", false}; {"texture c130-fon+flag.bmp f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "c130-fon+flag", false}; {"texture nomera.tga f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "nomera", false}; {"texture BANO.tga f0 g0", DIFFUSE , "BANO", false}; {"texture BANO.tga f0 g0", SELF_ILLUMINATION , "BANO", false}; {"texture DAMAGE_All.tga f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "DAMAGE_All", false}; {"texture DAMAGE_All.tga f2050 g0", DIFFUSE , "DAMAGE_All", false}; {"texture HOLES_All.tga f2 g0", DIFFUSE , "HOLES_All", false}; } I changed all but the first two false arguments to true and it picks up the new texture but still won't turn off the default markings. Is this template just too old for 2.5 or am I just doing it all wrong? Any help is very much appreciated. Cheers, Scotty.

RAF Sukhumi - Airbase MOD - puts you right in the heart of a modern day RAF fast jet training base right here in Caucasus Map of DCS World. Sitting on the coastline Sukhumi airfield has been extensively upgraded via VPC MOD to host RAF Hawk T1, RAF F-5E, RAF L-39 and RAF F/A-18C squadrons. Use this mission as a base for training or LAUNCH one of two Low Level Training Sorties with a pair of RAF F-5E’s or Hawk T1 via COMMS F10 MENU. Blast off from a foggy, atmospheric sunrise at RAF Sukhumi in this fast and exciting mission - similar to my earlier Low Level Sortie with RAF Tornado - DCS MISSION The F-5E has been used here in DCS as it is similar to the Bae Hawk T2 which is currently used by the RAF to qualify its fast jet pilots before they move onto frontline squadrons and operate aircraft like the EUROFIGHTER TYPHOON or F-35. Take in the amazing lakes, rivers, valleys and mountains of the Caucasus Map in DCS as you maintain formation in this thrilling and exciting low level flying training mission lead by RAF F-5E fast jet trainers. Point to point, tactical, low level aviation and navigation with real comms from your flight lead as he guides you around this awesome route. Visit the local low level flying area AKA The Kutaisi Loop, a series of tight, winding valleys similar to The Mach Loop training area in the UK. This mission gives you a full and enhanced DCS flying experience and includes ON SCREEN MESSAGES, COMMUNICATION MENU ITEMS and CUSTOM PILOT AUDIO WELCOME TO RAF SUKHUMI - Upgrades include... • Upgraded Tower • Squadron apron and hangars • Squadron aircraft and liveries. • Base support vehicles • Fire station • Visiting Aircraft • Cold War Aviation Museum • BUNDLED PDF with links to MODs/skins & install instructions Available Aircraft Slots (Players) • RAF F-5E - 29 Sqn (x4) • RAF L-29C - 208 Sqn (x2) • RAF F/A-18C - XIII Sqn (x3) Support: Single Player and Multiplayer Easy and fun for beginner and pro alike Mission Time: Around 40 mins FEATURES: - HOT START AIRCRAFT - CUSTOM AUDIO FROM LEAD PILOT (229 AM - Pre-tuned in aircraft) WARNING - AUDIO/ON SCREEN MESSAGES!!! Make sure HELMET AUDIO VOLUME is turned up ON-SCREEN MESSAGES and COMMUNICATIONS MENU (F10) USED THROUGHOUT MISSION!!! I will update this mission to iron out any bugs or to add more functionality Cheers and all the best for the holidays Stevie Thanks

I have created a Zone and a number of Triggers. Can I save the Zone and Triggers as a Template, then transfer the Template to other maps? Something like you can do with SAM Templates? My Zone has triggers for 4-10 radio transmissions. It would save me a lot of time having a Template that can be moved from map to map. I have been looking all over for information about this.

Probably a long shot, but does anyone know if there is a way, by modding some scripting? To create custom AI aircraft formation templates, that you could then use from ME advanced WP properties when setting "Set Option" - "Formation" - "xxxxxxxxx"?
