Hi. I've been encountering an issue with the display screens in the Harrier for a few days now. The problem seems to have come out of nowhere and I've not been able to sort it out on my own. I haven't downloaded any mods nor have I updated anything recently. I spend most of my time flying the Harrier and don't believe I've changed any of my procedures. The problem has to do with the display of the TGP being taken over by the Maverick seeker display once the missile is uncaged. This has been happening regardless of what screen I set the TGP or weapon stores page to. I cannot have an uncaged Maverick and a TGP display at the same time on separate screens any more. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the module without luck. It happens with both the IR Mavericks as well as the laser Mavericks. I'm no expert and the TGP/Maverick Workflow isn't the most intuitive so I've gone back and reviewed several tutorial videos just to make sure my brain isn't what's really broken here. After watching a few I've confirmed it is just my jet that's doing this. Any help with the problem will be appreciated. With the IR Mavs it's livable using just the missile seeker, but with the laser Mavs I can't self-lase anything. Thank you for your help!

In the F/A-18 (DCS anyway) it is possible to set two different Laser codes on the Litening pod, one for the DESIGNATOR and one for the Spot Search/Tracker. I've used this in the F/A-18 in multiplayer where a Wingman could laser designate a target with their code, then, once the target was spotted and locked, it could be prosecuted with my own Laser guided ordnance, while the Wingman was free to go attack another target. In the Harrier, we can only set a SINGLE code (and that code ends up getting set through the DMT!). In addition, we have TWO different LSS sensors, one as part of the DMT and one as part of the TPOD. Shouldn't it be possible to set them differently? Would be useful for different JTACS with different Codes to be able to set DMT and TPOD search codes differently, and useful to have a different LSS and Designation code so you could e.g. set your different Laser Guided Weapons to different codes on the ground. GBU for FAC targets, APKWS for ownship designation for example. This always bothered me as it is very handy to have a different code for your OWNSHIP designation vs. the Laser Spot Search. I realize that once you have found the laser spot, you can designate it, then change codes and use your own laser, if the FAC or other source can not continue designating) but that seems a bit too much switchology. Don't know if the single code in the Harrier is a real life limitation or a DCS/RAZBAM ism. Either way is fine, I'm just curious

I've been away from DCS for a while and in that time there seems to have been a lot of changes, with no clear documentation or guide. Chuck's is outdated and on hold, the Pocket Guide tells me nothing about how to use things. I used to know how to use GBU12 LGB with the TPOD and the TDC for target designation, but now nothing seems to work the same and I'm getting displays I don't recognise. There's not even a TDC button now. Does anyone have a simple to follow step by step guide for how to designate ground targets and drop GBU12 LGB with the TPOD (or any other method for that matter.) Thanks in advance.

A1-AV8BB-TAC-000 Page 1-367 NOTE: Because TPOD video is provided as maverick emulation, maverick video is not available when TPOD video is selected. Based to that, we shouldn't be able have a TPOD video and Maverick video (laser or FLIR) simultaneously open on both MFCD's. Pilot would be required to choose which one to be shown at the time. If Harrier is like the F-16 etc, avionics would only be able handle one Maverick video at the time. If someone can provide information that Harrier can handle a two Maverick video feed simultaneously, or that TPOD is not anymore emulating Maverick video, then it could be different. Based to the manual AFAIK, with even the older Litening AT is not mentioned to be used simultaneously but you need to switch the TPOD video off when Maverick video is shown (and it will automatically appear when uncaging the Maverick to left MFCD). So process to launch Maverick slaved to TPOD target would be: 1) Find target with TPOD / Create Target Designation with TPOD. 2) Select Maverick weapon 3) Uncage Maverick --- TPOD Turns Off --- --- LMAV/IRMAV video appears on Left MFCD --- (appears automatically to Left MFCD from any page, or to right MFCD if STORES page is open in it) 4) Push Sensor Select Switch Up --- INS -> IRMV --- (Maverick seeker slaved to TD direction) 5) TDC Action initiate Maverick Track 6) Master Arm On 7) Release to launch Maverick. There is as well interesting part in 2.15.1.11 Sensor Integration: "On Day and Night Attack aircraft the ARBS/LST sensor mode can be integrated with the AGM-65E Laser Maverick to acquire a target at increased range and azimuth..... ...When MAV/IRMV is selected, LST correlated and Laser Maverick video displayed, pressing the target designate button replaces the Laser Maverick video with the DMT display. When MAV/IRMV is selected, LST correlated and DMT video displayed, pressing the target designate button replaces the DMT video with Laser Maverick video" So the Maverick video can as well replace the DMT video. Edit: And if someone wonders that how to then use a Laser Maverick with the TPOD for designation if the TPOD video can not be open same time as Laser Maverick video is, answer is on the Page 1-413 as a NOTE (it is for Litening AT, but safe to assume that Litening v4 is with same limits, safety features etc). "If a laser is armed or firing (or the training laser dry firing), the TPOD page may be exited for up to 15 seconds before the laser is automatically safed. This is a programmed grace period to provide uninterrupted laser firing when the TPOD page is exited during weapon selection for weapon release or due to inadvertent sensor selection, and thereby allows the pilot time to reselect the TPOD page for continued laser firing" So pilot would be required to be able acquire a lock, launch Maverick and return to TPOD in 15 seconds after Uncagin the Maverick and receive its laser feed. Meanwhile the TPOD would continue tracking the target and firing the laser on it while pilot utilize maverick.

EDIT : Found the issue thanks to the guys on Razbam Discord Server My TDC Axis with no deadzone were apparently wiggling imperceptibly constatly changing the position of the pod. Now with TDC Controls mapped to a POV Switch everything works fine. EDIT 2 : APPLYING A BIT OF DEADZONE ON THE TDC AXIS CONTROLS ALSO WORKED FOR ME Hi guys, recently started learning the Harrier. Today I wanted to try and drop a gbu-12 on a moving target using the TPOD. I created a simple mission in the ME with an airstarted AV8B. When in the aircraft I go to the EHSD page to designate the waypoint (defined through the mission editor) and press "DESG". I then go to the right MPCD and select the TPOD page , finding the lightning correctly slaved to the waypoint. I press "Sensor Select Down" twice to go in TPODdes mode and then select MT mode. I start slewing the TPOD on the target but I immediately recognize its not picking up the moving target. Any idea why this is happening ? Am I doing something wrong ? Thanks in advance for the help. I've attached the miz mission file If you want to try it out yourself (syria map) Another video showcasing the same issue 2022-01-11 13-48-33.mp4 av8b laser guided bombs test.miz

@AlphaJuliet ATM gain control in TPOD page is not implemented, will this be implemented? Gain control is very important and now, with new FLIR, it is needed

Hi! Im currently learning the AV8B and im playing with the TPOD, my Question is, what exactly does LTIP do? The Forum search had no results so im creating a new Topic here. Ive googled it and ive found something with "Laser Target Image Processing" but did not understand anything. Thanks
