  1. Hello Viggen fans, In anticipation of the Kola Map release, I'm re-learning the Viggen, after many years of having it on the hangar ... not because of any problems with it, but because so many other interesting aircrafts have appeared for DCS, which I wanted to learn As part of this re-learning process, I edited a few training missions for this aircraft, as this forces me to learn the aircraft in more detail than just flying on it, and I want to share them here. As soon as Kola arrives, I will edit a 2nd version of each, to be flown on the new map, in the meantime they are set at Nevada because I'm truly tired of Caucasus and Marianas is a bit too small, and also because I really like Nevada I have already finished a small set of these missions, and want to share them here and add more as I go on finishing them. The missions are available from ED's User Files, this is the link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3334422/ Editing and debugging one of these missions takes about 10 days each, I'd rather not wait until every mission that I want to edit is ready, so here they are: M01 - Abreviated Cold Start My original idea, was to have a Cold Start with two client slots: one for an abreviated procedure using battery power, and another slot for starting with a full procedure and using Ground Power. In the end I couldn't make it work because the battery start has a very limited endurance, that didnt give me the time for detailed explanations that could be shared between both clients, so I ended up splitting the mission in two: One for battery start (this one), and another mission for a detailed cold start. M02 - Detailed Cold Start I know, I know ... almost one hour for a Cold Start mission? ... the truth is that I love how a Cold Start touches up on almost every System that an aircraft has: Electrics, Fuel, Hydraulics, Flight Control, Ignition, Engine, Radios, Avionics, etc. Its undoubtedly the single mission where one can truly view the complexities of a modern aircraft. Bear with me: M03 - Taxi & Take-off from an Airbase I was in the middle of editing this mission, when the last DCS update striked ... bugging the ATC. Plase ignore the glitch when asking ATC for permission to taxi M04 - Take-off from a Roadbase This is similar to M03, but starting from a Road Base near Creech. M05 - Autopilot use (added on 26/Nov/23) As a prior step to learning the Viggen navigation, I tought it would be useful to have a brief mission on the employment of the Autopilot system. M06 - Pre-planned Navigation (added on 5/Dec/23) This has been the hardest mission to edit, up to now, even with its scope limited to flightplans created on the mission editor, but it is also the most fun to fly: M07 - Visual Landing & Shutdown (added on 25/Dec/23) I promise, this is the last non-combat training mission that I will do for the Viggen on a long while ... but I needed the student pilots to be able to land after a combat training sortie, so I had to edit this mission on Landing first. For this mission, I elected to give the trainee the ability to select the kind of Landing Approach he wants to learn: Direct or Overhead, Normal or Short (short is harder as it leaves less time to align with the runway), and even managed to put the chance to learn the Shutdown procedure as well. To make the mission a bit more fun, I'm using a Script that @toutenglisse created for me, that will produce a report with the landing distance the student pilot occupied ... this is my own record after about two dozen tries made while debugging the mission Other DCS users that helped me to create this mission, are @funkyfranky for his landing diagrams, and @Charly_Owl for the valuable information contained on his Viggen Guide. Here is a walktrough video, of the overhead approach: and here is another with the Shutdown alone: M08 - Radio Employment (added on 23/Mar/24) As the Viggen radios are quite different from those of other DCS aircrafts, I decided to edit this training mission to help new Viggen users to get used to its intrincacies. The video includes a small bug on the section about using the emergency radio, which has been fixed but I didn't had the time to re-record the video. Installation: If you prefer, you can save these missions on the DCS Program folder, that way they would appear alongside the built-in training, like this: However, I know that many users don't like to modify the original game, so on that case you can save them inside a folder at /Saved games/DCS World/Missions/ and within DCS they would show up on Missions -> My Missions, like this: Conclusion: I will keep adding missions to this small pack, until Kola gets released. At that point I will migrate the finished missions to it. If you detect any issue with these missions, please report it on this thread, with as much detail as you can, and I will do my best to fix any bug. Best regards to everyone, and in particular to the user @TOViper as without his update of the Viggen manual, creating these missions wouldn't have been possible. Eduardo
  2. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328191/ All missions take place in various regions of the Caucasus map. A series of quick missions (Most take 3-10 minutes though 'Advanced' and 'Expert' missions may take longer), designed to help Viper pilots practice their systems workflow, refine their key binds and HOTAS controls, axis curves, and employment proficiency with a variety of both air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon systems, Air-to-Air refueling, as well as some more advanced scenario based training, that will test your flying abilities while expanding your Viper skills. These are designed to be quick and hassle-free ways to practice selecting the weapon systems, picking your modes, options, ripple patterns, etc. in order to ingrain good muscle memory and habits so it becomes second nature when flying real missions. If a mission has a live threat present, it will always be noted in the mission briefing. Missions are broken down into 5 categories for easy navigation: - 'Fun' - Just that. Fun scenarios, doing silly things, to just enjoy flying the Viper. No stress. No threats. - '.Basic': Essential skills for new pilots. Landing, formation flying, spotting, etc. - 'Weapons' - Threat free environments to practice weapons employment. The bedrock that this mission pack is built on. - 'Advanced' - Scenario-based training. Live threats may be present. Read all mission briefs in full. - 'Expert': - High level scenario-based missions. May contain multiple types of live threats and/or difficult flying conditions. Limited use of F10 and labels. Read mission briefs thoroughly. These are not tutorials. I include some helpful tips here and there, but there are no step by step directions telling you how to select and employ the systems required. These are practice missions. A basic understanding of the jet is required. (Though they could be useful if you're following along with Tutorial videos or checklists.) There is a briefing accompanying each mission letting you know your airspeed, altitude, situation and overall objective. The F10 map, Labels and Active Pause are available in all missions, except for Expert level scenarios. NOTE: If you have any version older than v.2.9.1 it is strongly recommended that you delete all old missions and download the latest version. DCS OB v2.9 broke some tanker communications and this version reverts to 'easy comms' to alleviate that. Additionally, you'll get all the new missions as well as numerous quality-of-life improvements and reworks. *********Most Recent Update: *********** **MOST RECENT UPDATE**: v3.0 - December 3rd, 2023 **New Missions Added** - Fun: Viper Carrier Landings - Yeah, you read that right. Show those Navy pukes that Vipers can land on boats too. (Yeah, we actually can.) - Expert: 'Two Dogs' Refuel - Inspired by true events from Dan Hampton's book 'Viper Pilot', this is an emergency aerial refueling situation. There is no margin for error. Link up with the tanker or die. For AAR experts only. **Mission Improvements** - .Basic - Beginner Formation Flying - This mission has been reworked a bit. Different location in the Caucuses, more gentle turns, but objective is the same. Formation flying. Learn it, live it, love it. - Advanced - Low Level CCRP Strike - Objective remains the same: conduct a low level precision strike with high-drag bombs. Now includes a second client aircraft armed with 12x MK-82 Snakeyes, and a second target following the first one, so you can get more repetitions done in a single playthrough, and practice configuring for bomb release & intervals when loaded with more than two bombs. /End changelog Includes the following Categories & Missions: Fun: - Airshow Demonstration - Marianas Tanker Shoot - Carrier Landings Weapon systems: - AIM-9M Sidewinder - AIM-9X Sidewinder High Off Bore shots - AIM-120C RWS Mode - AIM-120C TWS Mode - CBU-87 - CBU-97 - CBU-103 - CBU-105 - GBU 10 & 12 (Single mission for both.) - GBU 24 - HARM - HARM with Datalink - IR Mavericks - TV Mavericks - JDAM - JSOW - Mk 82 & Mk 84 unguided bombs (single mission for both) - Mk 82 Snakeyes - Air to ground guns & Unguided rockets (single mission for both) - Air to Air Guns - Maverick Boresight Practice Basic Skills: - Air to Air Refueling - Cold Start & Takeoff - Cold Start & Takeoff at Night - Air to Air Refueling (Easy comms, no external tanks) - Visual landing: low light & fog - Visual landing: clear night - Visual landing: clear day - Visual landing: rain and light wind - Instrument Landing System (ILS) Practice - Ground Moving Target radar - SEA Mode - Beginner Formation Flying - Spotting Practice: Air to Air - Mark Points/GMT Radar Employment - TNDL Datalink Advanced Skills: (All BFM Scenarios have a randomly selected enemy jet with a random skill level.) - Air to Air Refueling (No easy comms/Tacan required, external tanks) - Air to Air Refueling - Night (Easy comms, labels on) - BFM - Neutral - Fox 2s. - BFM - Neutral - Guns Only. - BFM - Defensive - Fox 2s. - BFM - Defensive - Guns Only. - BFM - Offensive - 2v1 Guns Only. - BFM - Offensive - 2v1 Fox 2s. - BVR with AWACS - BVR without AWACS - DTOS Mode w/ CBUs (No Threats) - DTOS Mode w/ CBUs (AAA & Manpads present) - CCRP Low level toss bombing attack - Bad weather low altitude Maverick employment - Low level CCRP Strike w/ Mk. 84 HD or Mk. 82 Snakeyes; your choice. - Wild Weasel: SA-2 - Wild Weasel: SA-10 - Wild Weasel: SA-3 - Wild Weasel: SA-6 - Wild Weasel: SA-11 - Wild Weasel: SA-8 - Wild Weasel: SA-15 - Wild Weasel: SA-5 - Wild Weasel: AAA & MANPADS - Sustained Formation Flight - Sustained Night Formation Flight - ILS Landing Approach - Dust Storm (Huge thank you to Mulder76 for creating this one!) - Flameout Landing Approach - Fight the Phoenix Expert Level Scenarios: - 'Two Dogs' Refuel - 500lbs of fuel remain. 3. Anticipation Builds: The Upcoming DCS F-4 Phantom Hey fellow aviators, I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling the excitement bubbling up as we await the arrival of the DCS F-4 Phantom! With its storied history and iconic design, the Phantom promises to be a game-changer in the world of flight simulation. For those who might not be familiar, the F-4 Phantom II is a legendary aircraft that has seen action in numerous conflicts around the globe. From its service in Vietnam to its role in the Cold War and beyond, the Phantom has cemented its place in aviation history as a versatile and formidable fighter. As we eagerly await its release in the Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) world, there's plenty to look forward to. Just imagining the adrenaline rush of flying this beast, whether it's engaging in dogfights, executing precision strikes, or navigating through challenging missions, gets the heart racing. Moreover, knowing the attention to detail that Heatblur puts into their modules, we can expect nothing short of perfection when it comes to the flight model, cockpit fidelity, and overall immersive experience of the DCS F-4 Phantom. Of course, with every new module comes a learning curve, and I'm sure many of us are gearing up to dive deep into the intricacies of operating this aircraft. From mastering its unique flight characteristics to understanding its array of weapons systems, there will be no shortage of challenges and rewards for pilots of all skill levels. But perhaps most exciting of all is the prospect of joining together as a community to share our experiences, tips, and tricks once the DCS F-4 Phantom is finally in our virtual hangars. Whether it's swapping war stories, coordinating multiplayer missions, or simply geeking out over the finer details of this legendary aircraft, the camaraderie that comes with being part of the DCS community is something truly special. So, as we countdown the days until the release of the DCS F-4 Phantom, let's keep the excitement alive and continue to build anticipation for what promises to be an unforgettable addition to the DCS line-up. Fly safe, everyone, and see you in the virtual skies! [VAF] CO | "AWOL" Recoat 6 Squadron (Spartons), Virtual Air Force https://discord.gg/virtualairforce
  4. Hello, I have been enjoying using the JAS 39C Mod that appeared a year ago: Since this Mod didn't had Training Missions, I started to edit training missions for it, mostly for the version of the Mod based on the free Su-25T and I believe that they turned out pretty well, so I'm now sharing them here, this is the download link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3324687/ They are 9 missions in total: To use these missions, you need obviously the JAS 39C Mod, get it here: https://github.com/whisky-actual/Community-JAS-39-C/releases This is a really excellent Mod and it has a very active user community on Discord: https://discord.gg/WD3CPfRW The missions are based on the free Marianas Map, but as its installation is optional you may not have it installed yet. It requires around 14 GB of disk space. I know some DCS users dislike this map because it has lower performance than Caucasus, but I honestly am tired of using the same old Map over and over again, so Marianas is for me a breath of fresh air and it offers a very different experience from Caucasus. I'm also aware that there are DCS users that are put off by the synthetic audio on the voiceovers, but while I can read and write english fairly well, my spoken english is pertty awful .. you are much better off with the synthetic voiceovers, trust me Also, most of the Weapon training missions require the 476th Fighter Group Target Range objects Mod, you can get it here: https://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=287 Here is a series of video walkthroughs for each mission, that may help if you get stuck when flying one of them: If you find any bug while flying these missions, please report it on this thread and I will do my best to fix it. Best regards, Eduardo PS: Almost forgot, to go along with my missions, I also added an entry to the Encyclopedia, as the Gripen didn't have one yet:

  6. Hello, Last year I edited a series of training missions set in Caucasus, for the FMA Pucara aircraft mod created by @pastranario3, as the Mod didn't had this type of mission. The Mod is still on its early stages of development and is still missing features, but it does have a lot already done, like Tacan and ILS equipment, only an UHF radio is missing. You can get more details about the Mod on this thread: With the release of Razbam's South Atlantic Map, my interest on this Mod renewed, and so I ported all my previous training missions to the new Map and released all 10 missions on this link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322944/ They are 10 missions in total, 5 for each Map: To use these missions, you need obviously the Pucara Mod, get it here: https://github.com/PucaraPastrana/PucaraDCS/releases This Mod also has a Discord channel, where you can get support: https://discord.gg/CFVSqkzY I'm also aware that there are DCS users that are put off by the synthetic audio on the voiceovers, but while I can read and write english fairly well, my spoken english is pretty awful .. you are much better off with the synthetic voiceovers, trust me Here is a series of video walkthroughs for each mission, that may help if you get stuck when flying one of them: If you find any bug while flying these missions, please report it on this thread and I will do my best to fix it. To go along with my missions, I also added an entry to the Encyclopedia, as the Pucara doesn't have one yet: Best regards, Eduardo
  7. Hello, I'm editing a series of training missions for the recently released OV-10A Bronco aircraft Mod, I'm opening this thread to get feedback and provide support for them in case of any bugs. I've already completed three Missions for the Basic Training and now intend to proceed with further Missions to cover Weapons Use, for now the Training looks like this: The download file link is: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3325976/ I also added an Encyclopedia entry to the Mod, just to make it more complete: Finally, here are some video walkthroughs of each Mission, so that you can see how they work before trying them yourselves: M01 - Cold Start, Taxi & Take-Off: M02 - VFR Circuit Landing, Taxi & Shutdown: M03 - Tacan Navigation: Edit: 28/Sep/22 ... added first Weapons Training mission: M05 Gun Strafing Edit: 8/Oct/22 ... added mission: M06 Rockets Use: Edit: 12/Oct/22 ... added mission: M07 Dive Bombing. Edit: 15/Oct/22 ... added mission M08 Low-level Bombing with high-drag bombs. Edit: October 27, today I finished the last mission of this Training set: M09 - Air-Air missiles employment. This completes the Training set, lets hope that the next DCS version won't break them If a user encounters a bug or mission error, please post it here and I will do my best to fix it. UPDATE 30/Nov/2022: The upcoming next release of the OV-10 Mod, version 1.08, will include these training missions, so this file is no longer available. Instead, download the latest release of the OV-10A Mod. Best regards, Eduardo
  8. Hello, I have been really enjoying learning and flying this really excelent helicopter Mod: Since this Mod didn't had Training Missions, I started to edit training missions for it, and I believe that they turned out pretty well, so I'm now sharing them here, this is the download link https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322980/ They are 4 missions in total: To use these missions, you need obviously the UH-60L Mod, get it here: https://github.com/Kinkkujuustovoileipa/uh-60l/releases This is a really excellent Mod and it has a very active user community on Discord: https://discord.gg/8kffUNvz The missions are based on the free Marianas Map, but as its installation is optional you may not have it installed yet. It requires around 14 GB of disk space. I know some DCS users dislike this map because it has lower performance than Caucasus, but I honestly am tired of using the same old Map over and over again, so Marianas is for me a breath of fresh air and it offers a very different experience from Caucasus. I'm also aware that there are DCS users that are put off by the synthetic audio on the voiceovers, but while I can read and write english fairly well, my spoken english is pretty awful .. you are much better off with the synthetic voiceovers, trust me Here is a series of video walkthroughs for each mission, that may help if you get stuck when flying one of them: If you find any bug while flying these missions, please report it on this thread and I will do my best to fix it. Best regards, Eduardo PS: Almost forgot, to go along with my missions, I also added an entry to the Encyclopedia, as the Blackhawk doesn't have one yet:
  9. Are there any land based gunnery and bombing ranges anywhere on the Syria map? Are there any on the Turkish part? What about sea based training zones?
  10. Hello, I have edited a few training missions for the recently released Aerges Mirage F1, as the built-in training wasn't close enough to the procedures of the real aircraft and lacked voiceovers, which diminishes immersion. Also, the built-in missions are set at the Caucasus Map, a place where the F1 never operated. As some players don't like to perform the check steps of most procedures, I designed the missions in such a way that you can skip some parts, like the Checks, or the taxi and shutdown on some of the missions. For the voiceovers, I used a synthetic voice witk british accent ... it is certainly better than my weak english. You can download these missions here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3327803/ Mission Installation: The file is a zipped OvGME-ready file, to be installed on the same path as the built-in training: ..\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Mirage-F1\Missions\EN\Training\ on this way, you can choose between the built-in missions, or mine: This should not affect the Integrity Check in any way, but if you prefer not to mess with the standard DCS install, then you can extract the .MIZ file and place them wherever you like. Fly them using the MISSION rather than the TRAINING menu of DCS, like this: If you find a bug or want to comment, please don't do it on the DCS User Files section, as it will not alert me about it. Instead, provide that feedback on this Forum thread Missions Walkthroughs: I have prepared video walkthroughs for each mission, so that you can have a better idea of what to expect on each: M01 Cold Start: M02 Taxi - Takeoff & Climb: M03 VFR Landing - Taxi & Shutdown: M04 IFR Landing - Taxi & Shutdown: M05 IFR Night Landing - Taxi & Shutdown: Identical to the M04 mission, but with darker skies, to force you to rely more on the ILS for landing: Future Missions: I intend to add more missions for this series, comprising Weapons Training, stay tuned Eduardo
  11. Hello, Back on April 2021 I edited a set of training missions for the A-29B aircraft Mod created by @Luiz Renault, three of which were included by Luiz as part of his Mod, then at version 0.1.8. However, over these two years Luis has kept updating and improving his Mod, to the point that these missions were no longer working correctly. So, I have spent the last month editing and updating these missions, to make them compatible with the latest version of Luiz's Mod, v0.5.2. On my YT channel I have a walktrough of each, so you can see how they are before deciding if you want to download them: M01 - Cold Start, Taxi & Take-Off This mission is set at Caucasus' Anapa airbase even tough the Marianas Map is more appropiate for a western aircraft like this, but back when I did the first version of this Mission, Marianas didn't yet exist, and changing the Map now would mean re-doing all the triggers, so I opted to keep the Map. M02 - Waypoint Navigation On this mission we learn the use of the INS navigation system of this aircraft, to navigate from Krasnodar to Anapa. All my training missions have background air traffic enabled, to aid immersion, and even if sometimes the AI have small accidents, I find them amusing M03 - VFR Landing & Shutdown On this mission we learn the VFR Landing in two variants: Straight Approach, and Circuit Landing. M05 - CCIP Bombing This mission teaches how to use iron bombs on CCIP releases, it provides two client slots, one lets the player start in the air, while the second has the player start at Anapa. This mission and the next two, require the use of a second User Mod: the well known 476th VFG Air Weapons Range Objects, which you can download here: https://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=287 In order to give the player feedback about his accuracy, the Mission makes use of @Ciribob Target Range Script, to provide reports like this: M06 - CCIP Rockets This is the same as the bombing missions, but using unguided rockets. It also provides accuracy report: M07 - Air/Ground gunnery This was a fun mission to edit, as I enjoy the aspects of markmanship that it has: That completes the set for now, tough I intend to add in the future one or two missions about the use of FLIR and Laser Guided Bombs. You can download the set here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329565/ If you find any bug with these missions, please report them on this thread and I will do my best to fix them. Best regards, Eduardo

We try to be semi-realistic - Roles needed: We are currently recruiting for F18/16/14 and all helicopters. Other jets will be considered on contact. We are also looking for Mission designers, Opfor commanders and LotATC controllers to help make our missions be more in-depth and interesting. - Squadron Requirements: SRS is a hard requirement. Pilots to have HOTAS. RIO, CPG, WSO keyboards accepted. Some form of headtracking/VR. Recommended DLC: Supercarrier – F14/18. 13. Hello, I'm having a blast with this really nice aircraft Mod, created by the VSN Team and @PeeJott .. so, I have edited a few training missions for it: On my YT channel I have a walktrough of each, so you can see how they are before deciding to download them: M01 - Shore Cold Start, using the F-4C variant: I know the Mod is not yet fully realistic on its systems, so even if the mission is inspired on the Natops procedures, there are a lot of steps that are not simulated yet. M02 - Shore Taxi, Take-Off & Climb, again with the F-4C All the missions are at the free Marianas map, as it just fits the Phantom better than Caucasus, sorry if you have not installed it because of space issues or because its low VR performance. M03 - Carrier based Cold Start, with the F-4C This is the same as M01, but taking place on the free Forrestal carrier that Heatblur has gifted us. M04 - carrier Taxi, Launch & Climb, with the F-4B This was the hardest mission to edit, as I was forced to have the carrier immovable in order to be able to detect the position of the aircraft on the deck. This makes the aircraft harder to launch properly, so that’s why the plane is with just half fuel M10 - F-4B RWR, Radar & Countermeasures, with the F-4B: I enjoyed editing this mission a lot, in spite of the unrealistic rwr and radar, as interacting with dcs displays using triggers is always challenging. I started with the basics first, but hope to be adding a couple more missions soon to cover weapons training too The missions can be downloaded at this link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329072/ I open this thread, to provide support for the missions, if you find a bug with one of them please let me know here, and I will do my best to fix it. You can get the VSN Mod here: https://filehorst.de/download.php?file=eegwxIzi it should be updated with this patch: https://filehorst.de/download.php?file=engcsyyf The developer’s Discord is https://discord.gg/3qHXcDQX Best regards, Eduardo
