Perhaps this has already been discussed. Currently, when the pilot's body is visible, it hides certain buttons, which means you have to make the body disappear to access them (if you haven't mapped these buttons). I propose that, when the body is visible, the mouse creates a transparent zone on the body (similar to that of the flashlight) to make the panels hidden by the body visible. Nothing urgent, nor vital for the simu, but I'd find it practical. Stay alive this year!

Speed Bar for airspeed, compass, height, time scale ?
jackd posted a topic in New User Briefing Room
A general Speed Bar for airspeed, compass, height and Time Scale .... Can you get them to show up in the main game view? And how can you get rid of that friggin' FPS frame counter in the upper right corner, probably set by NVDIA .. -
Like the counterpart using 2D screens, which is very useful in increasing SA. I would like to see similar kind of FoV increase in VR, in which, there is only cockpit camera forward and backward, which do not exactly do the trick. It may sound cheating or unrealistic, I don't think it breaks the immersion, but using this feature or not is up to the player.

Two bugs to report: 1) Just jumped into a F-16C after my A-10C crashed and even when I throttled back to max conserve fuel back to base; the afterburner was still on in the external model. Afterburner stuck on F-16C Throttle All the Way Back 2) I had severe problems moving my head around the VC cockpit. Sometimes the HUD would be in the wrong place, sometimes I'd have to cycle in and out of F1 view to be able to pan around the cockpit and look out the canopy. Really makes landing impossible. There has got to be an easier way to pan using just the mouse to look around the cockpit like I do w/ the A-10C Warthog II w/ NO issues. Maybe a bug, maybe a feature, maybe a problem on my end but you tell me.

I start the game in small window mode then I go to full screen after the plane/map/weather, and everything else is loaded. In the small window the mouse is accurate and it can perform all of the functions over the switches and buttons and use the mouse wheel functions. When I press Left Alt+Enter to change to full-screen mode the accuracy is gone. This is just as of yesterdays 2.7 update, though in the previous version I would have to click the left mouse button to get it to function properly in any new screen such as the Esc. menu or the briefing window. I have only attempted this in the F18 and in multiplayer. This happens in Beta, which i guess is the only version updated to 2.7 now. Thanks for any help, this makes the game unplayable

Was trying to play around with snap views in my F16 because my TrackIr has issues seeing the extreme rear panels.....Well now, I have somehow managed to set the default view to upside down, just above the hud. I cant get the default cockpit view back.... Even when I hit the reset button on the Track IR, it just reverts back to upside down, above the hud. I have tried restarting. Same thing. I have no idea what I did, but I really need help. Looked through most settings and cant find a thing. Thanks!

Mouse axis can be assigned there, but not HOTAS axis stick, which makes no sense to me as that is basically the same in terms of input, but the game simply blocks this option. I’m aware that there is another pov option that uses discrete inputs, but that works extremely bad comparing to the axis camera control. is there any way to make it works without virtual mouse/tracIR input?

Hello, so I'm having this issue now and note I was not having it before the latest update, through many different tests with different aircraft, all having the same issue. When I want to watch replays, such as doing an airshow for example, when I go into F11 or even LCtrl+F11 free view, the padlock will either not lock onto the aircraft or it will lock onto an ambiguous space way Infront of the aircraft that is not even an object, it's like it locks onto the aircraft but forces the camera way out front it making the plane completely unviewable. Has anyone else have or had this issue that knows how to fix it?

Hello. I haven't played DCS for awhile and when i came back and installed the updates, i noticed a breaking change in view controls. I have neither head-tracking nor VR headset (yet) so i use mouse for free look. In previous versions i was able to use the mouse for both the free look and clicking the cockpit by toggling between those with a "Force cursor to show" (default: Alt+C). It was not ideal, but it worked. However with the newest version the Alt+C shortcut added a third mode, which is moving around the cockpit (strafe left/right/up/down), so now i have to press Alt+C (which is also binded to my mouse middle button) two times to switch from free look to cockpit control, and two times to get back to free look. This adds so much overhead for me that it's impossible to do in a fight anymore. How do you guys do it when you don't have a head-tracking and you need to look around and click cockpit at the same time? Why don't we simply get a view mode, where the mouse is used for free look and the cursor always stays in the middle, so that you chose which button to click by looking around instead of by moving the cursor across the screen? Same way as how it was done for example in Doom 3 or Quake 4 when you aproached some control panel.

The current control scheme is pretty unfriendly to users without a Head Tracking or VR Headset who want to look around with mouse. There are 2 separate modes for the mouse - freelook mode in which the mouse is used for looking around and cursor mode in which you can click buttons in the cockpit - which you can toggle between with Alt+C by default. However during a fight for example this is pretty uncomfortable and impractical, because you have to constatly switch the modes back and forth. And it doesn't help that now one click is not enough, you have to double-click. Why can't we simply get a mode in which the mouse controls the view and there is a cursor that stays always in the middle of the screen, so that you chose which button to click by actually looking at it, instead of moving the cursor across the screen? Simmilarly to how it works here This would mean you would need just one mode and there would be no switching, because you would be able to look around and click buttons at the same time.

Dear Friends , I am struggling to progress in this masterpiece . 1. I bought too many modules (that is on me ) 2. I cannot switch between mouse look ( great for fine movements over switches ) and headtracking (just great for every thing else ) I can turn off head tracking with a hotkey , but at that point the mouse will not allow mouse movement to move the camera around the cockpit . With headtracking I can look around (and zoom with a slider on my hotas ) but I cannot stay still enough to easily flick switches . When I watch tutorial vids its obvious that there is a better way to do it . I know I can go into controls , clear the head track controls and get the mouse to work but I really want to change between the two methods on the fly . Alternatively, if anyone can suggest another way I will be hugely grateful , I have an embarrassing total of hours in this thing but am still dangerously rubbish (despite actually flying a fair amount in real life ..not military I hasten to add ) 3. Greedy but ALSO ! Snap views obviously are just that , a quick look , how can you set up (or can you ) custom views of , say, a panel , and then be able to have a cursor to click on the switches ?? Thanks , happy flying and if you ever see a confused looking plane fly into the ground its probably me , Di

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any when searching here: I got a CM3 setup using monster tech and would like to install the monster tech MFD on the left of the throttle. Is this too close to use the buttons on the MFD? I haven't been able to find any images of such a setup when googling. I'm curious if anybody has done this and if so, if it provides enough space between the throttle and the MFD in situations like when you push the throttle all the way forward. Thank you

Trying to work out if the ground/area is suitable for a unit/building/base in a top down flat 2d representation of a map in 2022/2023 is beyond lunacy. I get we're dealing with a legacy mission editor, but this needs a significant overhaul and bringing up to date.

Needing a LUA expert, I think. Wanting to alter HUD only view to remove the DDIs and AMPCD. I have searched forums and guides and YouTube videos… so many directions are outdated, or don’t work, etc. Anyone know how and can help? Only for F/A-18. Thanks.
