71st_AH Rob
I spoke with BIGNEWY about reporting this. There is a difficulty in that we don't get traction for two reasons. Firstly its the moving target scenario where ED are concentrated on getting to 2.5. Second its that we supply a reproduction that only involves an external script with behaviour ED doesn't anticipate as a core function of it's product. I've written in another post, my actions personally is that I'm not pursuing a fix on this version, given the timing and time of year it happened and the larger picture. But I am watching. In the meantime, reduce the CAP's. it works. Any guidance on max numbers of A/C or numbers of CAP flights? Do a/c in GCI flights count against the aggregate numbers? Pikey
So i've not tested with those numbers or anywhere in between them and 8 AI aircraft total. If you bring it down two at a time until it doesn't crash it might give you a ballpark number, although who knows how valid that is as a test. Given I have 8, the mission I checked had 18, try 12 first, if it doesnt crash try again. If it doesn't crash at the same place it doesn't mean it wont crash somewhere else, but, and it's a big but, if it's something to do with tasking multiples at one time, then the first RTB might have been the trigger and subsequently less aircraft will be tasked later by sheer randomisation. I'm guessing a lot too, but I was speaking with a dev and he might be able to reproduce a function using MISAT that we can spam and test with) (I've never had GCI actually work in GCI CAP for some reason!) Any guidance on max numbers of A/C or numbers of CAP flights? Do a/c in GCI flights count against the aggregate numbers? 71st_AH Rob
Ok, thanks for that bit of information. Going to try one Blue CAP of 4 and one Red CAP of 2 or 4 and Max of two dynamic intercepts and run it for the next 6 hours and see what happens. Feel free to join and see what happens when you shoot down a CAP or tirgger the intercepts.

Scooternutz
I would like to see this in the ME. 1. You place a unit as "Late Activation" 2. Choose a trigger "Random Spawn" 3. Choose how many spawns. This way folks would not have to worry about flags and such. Sure it would be simple but it would work. Scooternutz
Using this script along with CSAR and it makes the world come alive. There were times I would rescue downed pilots for hours. Loved every bit of it. [sIGPIC]https://drive.google.com/file/d/16rUBmmJR7A3YGZVGPGskxG1XtvulGojJ/view?usp=sharing[/sIGPIC]
71st_AH Rob
Yes, faint hope, perhaps a forlorn hope, that there is an update on Friday that miraculously fixes this. By accident of course.
Pikey
Well this was subject of discussion today with the moderators, I provided the mission file as reproduction. All i can say is...play NTTR or rewind patches, NTTR is rock solid for GCICAP. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

Grimes
Crash seems pretty consistant, around the 15/20 minute mark. This one didn't crash for me, I let it run to 30 minutes and it was still doing fine. I have attached my mission. I can't figure out why it crashes from 15 to 30 minutes in. I reverted to MIST 73 from 74. I only have two CAPS and GCIs. I am at a loss. This mission did crash at around 30 minutes in. Gonna see if I can make it crash any faster. 71st_AH Rob
So, I got a couple of hours with one CAP and two 'dynamic' intercept flights per side. Crash happened just after I shot down the intercept flight dispatched to shoot me down. Also have been trying the latest version of GCICAP, the one modified 7 months ago, it is not listed in the releases on Github, that only lists up to 1.0 rc5 which is one year and two days old now and was the version I had been using until yesterday. I will try triggering the intercept flight and shooting it down to see if I can trigger the crash again or if that is a coincidence later today. Pikey
GCICAP might safely crash the game on the surface, but it never used to with the same code. The conclusion is that DCS changed. I agree. All that we have done to limit, change, mist change outs, etc, still results in a game crash. S D
It is looking like we're just going to have to accept that for now there isn't really anything we can do. On a side note, if anyone has any interesting M2000C coop missions available please let me know. Without this script, finding it so difficult to even get motivated to make any kind of missions. Pikey
Challenge accepted. only 2 mirages needed. Waypoint centric strike mission, in the style of the Viggen. Be fuel conservative, make sure you are really good at CCRP at low level. You have to hit a target under the nose of an s300 and a Mig29 CAP and run like fk. You wont open the misison and look it for too long, I'd like to hear how you get on. Enjoy sub 50m ingress... :) It is looking like we're just going to have to accept that for now there isn't really anything we can do. Grimes
GCICAP might safely crash the game on the surface, but it never used to with the same code. The conclusion is that DCS changed. The good news is I was unable to recreate the crash on the tester build. The mission that crashed for me in 1.5.5 went for 1 hour and 40 minutes before I decided to stop the test. Just gonna have to wait for the next patch. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Marioshata
Hey guys, For me the script in version 1.5.5 doesn't crash, but it doesn't work. I have 2 CAP groups with 2 planes per group set at startup, but only 1 CAP group spawns and it immediately gets a RTB task. After it lands the 2 planes park and never despawn. After that NO new CAP groups or GCI groups are ever spawned. Haven't changed anything in my mission and it used to work as it should, so I guess ED changed something lately which broke the script. Pikey
Hi, I looked at two missions posted here just to confirm we were seeing the same issue, but I don't see any value in doing the same on this version, as if you have a configuration issue, fixing it only leaves you still int he broken state that everyone else is seeing. If you have this on the next version then forward to the post and someone might check it for you. Hey guys, For me the script in version 1.5.5 doesn't crash, but it doesn't work.
