stray cat
When did the UH-1H represented in dcs go into service first? Wikipedia says 1966-67. Does that mean the one we fly ingame is the exact same thing down to all parts from that era or is there some more modern upgrades added to it? Lizzard
I would say this is the 60s Huey..all the analog Instruments...the only improvement I guess is the Radar Altimeter.. My Specs: I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..
Home Fries
The composite rotors modeled in the DCS UH-1H were added in the early 80s. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Slippery Pete
I think we're flying a Bell Huey II, not exactly the same as the Nam era models. For aesthetic purposes, I wish we could get rid of the flare dispensers while in gunship mode, so at least we look could look more like the older versions. Lizzard
Then why doesn't my cockpit look like this? go to Youtube and search for some UH-1 Cockpit Videos...if you watch 10 Videos, you will most likely have 10 slightly different Cockpits..seems like all the Guys pimp the Huey to fit their needs My Specs: I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one.. Slippery Pete
That is one particular Huey with one particular cockpit. Most Huey II's still have the same basic layout we have.
VincentLaw
I just copied that cockpit directly from the Bell website for the Huey II. I don't know what exactly makes a Huey II a Huey II, but according to both Bell and Wikipedia, the Huey II has a T53-L-703 engine. The standard UH-1H has a T53-L-13, and according to the DCS Huey manual, we have a T53-L-13B. Furthermore, since this is an officially licensed product, I think they would market it as a Huey II if it was a Huey II.
