Shark Pit, acemark

Hello all.

I would like to start a thread on my KA-50-Black Shark Pit.

This is my first Pit and I think that my expectations have been more than met with my new toy.

When I started checking home pit builds in this forum, I was indeed amazed at what was posible. This pit is a result of this forum and all the info it provides. Thanks everyone.

Start date; Dec. 28 2011

Estimate; 1-2 years. But at the time, I certinatly was't going to build an entire cock-pit.This atitude changed as the build progressed.

So about 2.4 years later were here. I think 6 more months, and it will be close.

A week ago started finishing off the right center panel. This was the last pannel to make. All panels are made but some parts still missing. I have to be carefull of that finished word.

So heres the pics.

This pic is the grid I made from plastic J bead to suport the led backlighting. The center run is Blue, the 2 outer runs are supper bright white leds. I mount them about 2" behind the panels.

The panel lit up but it was sunny at the time

Thanks guys, glad you like.

I have just noticed, that I have been calling the right panel the left panel . I will go back and edit, sorry.

Simulatoregp, Your recent pics of your fuel cut-off valves got me to take a new look at my own. So I spent the weekend fooling around with then instead of wiring. Thanks.

Of all the things in pit builing wireing is my least enjoyablle task. I need to post a pic of the mess. The pic posted before is the neat side.

So here is a before a after. needs paint

After a day of squating, kneeling and crouching behind the pit wiring ,my body aches all over. It is a very ackward to do.

The fact that it is the last step in the process is helpfull.

I should have put the pit in the center of the room, but moving it now would be a heck of a job.

I only have one room in the basement, the rest being unfinished. Lots of space to build a custom pit room .Lots of work too.

Hello all. Been hard at it wiring . got things running again. Here are some pics . Tried using flash this time . It drowns out the lights but really brings out the detail and makes every indicator appears to be on.Still Have to configure a bunch of swithches but I can fly again.
