Thanks guys, glad you like.

I have just noticed, that I have been calling the right panel the left panel . I will go back and edit, sorry.

Simulatoregp, Your recent pics of your fuel cut-off valves got me to take a new look at my own. So I spent the weekend fooling around with then instead of wiring. Thanks.

Of all the things in pit builing wireing is my least enjoyablle task. I need to post a pic of the mess. The pic posted before is the neat side.

So here is a before a after. needs paint

Hello all, here is an update.

I got my compasss installed, and a 5" dia. spy hole cut in the back wall for taking in pit pics.

Also, I have added some rivets to the roof section for looks. I used upholstery nails .

the above pic is looking through the rear spy hole .You can see the compass installed and my head tracker is mounted ,was just held with tape. Now the pics will be centered. I should have thought of this sooner

WOW incredible work :clap_2:

Congratulation

Thanks Skulleader.

Ran into a snag with the mirrors, the protective film on the reflective surface wont peal off. Its too brittle. Old stuff. Will try lacqure thinner when I get some, and see if it will melt it.

The balast bucket has be replaced and the roof is really taking shape now.

Here are some pics.

This is the film that is resisting removal.

ITS an aluminum reflecter for florescent lighting. I contact glued it to some 1/8" plywood.

So with a little methel hydrate the blue film is removed. I recall now that it was in 1995 , a power smart upgrade at work, where this reflector came from. No wonder its hard to get off.

here are some pics of the mirrors.

hi acemark,

i have been looking [shocked] at your fabulous pit pictures and i say simply the best ever eye catching shark. may i ask a few questions?

could you tell us a few more details on:

1) the construction of your joystick

2) what colour and shade of paint you used?

3) did you CNC or hand cut your pit parts?

4) why did you choose wood not acrylic or sheet metal for sides

5) do you suffer any joint/arm pains after intensive work?

6) could you build in an ejector seat?

7) what about the rudder pedals?

8) where have you been all my life???

yours

grainny

Hello Grainny. Thankyou .

Yes to questions. Anyone please feel free to ask questions.

1) See my thread here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99274

ITS all about the cyclic.

2) I used Flat Black. Acrylic enamel. Brush on and spray.Up untill a year ago I was buying it from Rona,There line but I think it was made by Rustoleum. They discontinued it to my horror . Im now using Tremclade brush-on flat black and Krylon Fusion for plastic, black, spray on. But its not flat enough so I top coat with tremclade. Krylon makes a flat black

Its for camouflage and comes with 2 coulors that I dont need,But its flat and Thats what I will Buy next. Dont have spec #.

3)I used a power saw and drill press. No CNC.

4)$$$$$$ moola man. Im to cheap.I use metal when I must. I think wood is easier to work with and the 1/8"x 4'x8' plywood is $16.50 a sheet.

5)Generaly no But prolonged squatting causes constant pins and needels effect in legs that stops when squatting stops.

6)Depends what you mean. A real one,I dont think so. I am presantlly thinking of building that wonderfull" DIY-G- seat" that Bergison posted here recentlly.heres a link http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122577

7)I made them, But that was before I decided to build a pit. They were originally chained to my saitek pro rudder pedels, but now have a hall efects sensor in them. No center detent, and no resistance to movment.

Will try and find my old rig pic and put here. The pic is gone but my post is still there.?

Mark.
