Radio Control

I have a question, didnt know whether to put it in home cockpits....

FPV is becoming quite big in Hobby RC Pilots, there have also been a few post (mine included) of some awesome F-16 FPV flying.

With the 4g iPhone and other technologies - do you think it is possible to build a ground station and fly a long range r/c aircraft like a drone?

There cant be that much lag in a 4g system providing there is reception, so, if the guys on here can make an iPad pit, surely they can make a phone app which transmits 4g video and receives flight commands with nanosecond delays?

Does anyone know if Apps can send data to the iphone connector so as to control say an aircraft or even a remote controlled car?

yes Burns it is possible to fly FPV from a ground station. But be carefull with the Laws for flying RC FPV / Drones. If you dont have the right papers you can lose everything. Some countrys there are even FAA rules and amateur broadcasting due to the video frequencys you are useing

But Remember the Iphone is rubbish for flying FPV, the range stops around 50 meters.

The AR Parrot drone is sutch a thing if you want to fly FPV with iphone. But it hase 1 big weakness Not auto return if there is signal loss. The DJI Phanthom has that option but it isn't controlled by mobile device but with standard rc equipment.

So forget flying with Iphone or any other mobile devices.

A good website to get your info from is http://diydrones.com/

Also with the right setup from that website you can get ranges to up to 80 KM:pilotfly:

But the main thing is what are you willing to spend.
