Mike Cinch Perry
I was just wanting to get an Idea of what type of systems you all have, just for an idea for my next upgrade. So if you would all please post some of your System specs like, 1.CPU (speed & Socket) 2.GPU (VideoCard)(AGP-PCIE) 3.RAM 4.Hard Drives (Sata-or what so) 5. FPS (In Cockpit looking strait out on the ground) 6. AVG FPS IN say a Hyperlobby server with as many players as possible I want to get an overall idea to see what will be my next big jump but dont want to spend alot!!! Colt40Five
1. AMD athlon64 3500 venice (Asrock 939 dual SATA II mobo [has agp and PCIe slots btw]) 2. PCIe XFX 6800GS 3. 1gb Corsair value RAM 4. 80gb SATA primary 120gb IDE Secondary 5. check this thread for screenies and links to screenies on my system: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=13934 6. I don't play multi... I think I struck a good balance between price and performance, and since I built mine 4 months ago the CPU price has come down. I got everything from newegg.com you can check pricing there. Good Luck! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I Spent £3000 on mine which is kinda too much. but if you were to build it yourself then you can get it cheaper than what i got mine for with slightly higher specs of fx60 and dual 78s 512s bulldog teh h4x with the leet overclockable opty, HAX :)

britgliderpilot
AMD XP64 3700+ ATI Radeon X800XL 1024Mb DDR400 RAM 200Gb Maxtor SATA HDD FPS varies hugely. I'm running Su33 campaigns on high water and high scenes with 25FPS on crowded airfields - if I was to go fly the Su25T over Sevastopol with those settings, the FPS would probably drop down to 15 or less. At this point I think I'd need more GPU power to get much better performance. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Kula66
Dell laptop with: Pentium M 2.25Ghz NVidia 1400 256Mb - (like a 6800), 80Gb 7200 rpm drive 1Gb RAm FPS is 15 upwards with almost everything on high (except water which I don't like on high) + extra trees mod ... performance - good enough! Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN
na bgp, i dont think its more gpu power you need, i just think its more cpu power, as my 6800gt is the same as my 78s basically, after you reach a certain point in vid card power it doesnt really matter how much higher you go, it all boils down to the cpu, well thats what i found anyway. Your 800xl should be more than sufficient power, no shit dude...
Pilotasso
See sig below, If I was to upgrade anything in it would be to add another GIG if ram. If I had more cash I would get a sapphire X800XL AGP and a second hard drive. I have the exact same mobo and cpu as you, I'm stuck on the AGP path aswell untill I get some cash to upgrade my whole system, but my 6800GT gets me by ok, for now. ATI's card is 206 € right now, and I would hardly tell the difference in LOMAC and saved me 100€. Changing MOBO would require me to change everything but the hard drive, better off with a totaly new PC. I realy miss the upgradeability of older sytems had. Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN
pilotasso, if you are serious about upgradeing, buy a new 939 cpu and also a asus asrock nf4 dual mobo which has agp and pci-e vid card ports on it ( the only mobo to have agp and pci-e), so it will allow you to keep everything except the cpu. and when you finished with your old agp vid card, you can upgrade to pci-e without having to buy a whole new mobo and other stuff. real good mobo aswell and dirt cheap
Pilotasso
Right now I cant upgrade anything. Maybe in a couple of months will get another GIG of memory but thats it. If I had some extra cash I would get ATI's card and another drive. But beyond that it would be a completely new PC. I do this because it has to be budget freindly. I must keep the CPU for now. the others are still very expensive and I realy better of with this one than getting a new one only slightly fatser than this (2.2GHZ) I usulay upgrade GFX 2 years or the whole PC every 3 years. SO this one is still here to last at least another year.
