ok.... Its disapointing to see a another 3rd party developer just go away...

Makes one wonder if there's something wrong with the whole 3rd party process.

My faith in crowd founding, at least in DCS its non-existant at this point.

Hope you guys can figure out whats wrong and start improving the development process. Its been years.. since 3rd party development was anounced and only belsimtek (partner of ED) delivered 1 chopper and another in Beta.

Thanks for ED to support us backers, I just hope this doesnt slow down the process of EDge, nevada and the F-18

P.S. This post should also be in the non backer section of the forum, theres still a few who dont have access here.

If RRG departure was for politial/security/personal issues, I hope the best for them

A.K.A. Timon -117th- in game

Yes and no. I think majority of 3rd party devs aren't just big enough and dont have experience to dev dcs level sim as fast as we consumers would want.

Thanks for update to update Wags.

I don't know what to think.

Had Luthier announced this himself, had he been more honest about the situation ( I doubt it reached this overnight ) and the Cliffs of Dover business been different... I could have given him a thidd chance.

I pushed my luck with this kickstarter project...

He better never come around with another flight sim project, I know for sure I'll not be forgiving.

EDIT: I mean... maybe Ubisoft was right at shutting the development of CloD... maybe, just maybe, they saw that it would've never been fulfilled...

See the update in the announcement.

Thanks for pointing out the updated update Sith. It did answer part question. Although the impact is minimal it still begs the question just where are things with the F-18C. Will we get any news on that front at all this year now.

I am sure when ED has something new on the F/A-18C, we will hear about it, but sorta off-topic here ;)

Guys, lets not go down a path of discussing Luthier or RRG. Its not really open for discussion here. Thanks guys.

I appreciate that sith and I can understand your reasoning for not going over what has already happened.

But can we establish what will happen to the cash donated to the KS.

I would not overreact, for instance, I want Belsimtek to have my babies, they are awesome, and I have FULL confidence in Wags and ED as a whole.

We don't know the full story, and no matter what it is, it wont make a dent in my faith I have with ED.

Sometimes things just don't go according to plan and I find it comforting that ED have taken the initiative.

ED is doing their best to honor the KS as stated in the announcement, that is all I know.

I disagree. I funded RRG because they would develop this. Now it's gone over to ED. Disappointing. But if ED didn't get the remaining funds, then it's just too much. If RRG still has all of that money, despite only doing a small fraction of what they undertook, I very much doubt the legality of it, not to mention the morality. I knew of the risks they advertised, but I doubt that all the money's been spent already.

More importantly than all is how ED will manage financially. I can take the hit on 40-50 dollars, but I would be horrified to see all of those 150,000 dollars not only bring kept by someone who has not done even 10% of what was advertised, but that money also indirectly crippling ED if they have to finish this large project with no financial backing.

The mother of all F -ups is to assume anything.

Sit back relax and take solace in the fact that ED has clearly stated they will continue with the project.

At the end of the day, that's all that is important really, even if it takes a bit longer.

Well now that Luthier is out of the picture there is simply no good reason to even ever mention him here again, ED have picked up the batton and are graciously honouring the kickstarter pledges and that is that, we never need to hear of broken promises again.

We don't know why he is out, so lets not get the tar and feathers out either for the guy.

Lets just be happy ED is taking over from where he left off.
