The mother of all F -ups is to assume anything.

Sit back relax and take solace in the fact that ED has clearly stated they will continue with the project.

At the end of the day, that's all that is important really, even if it takes a bit longer.

Well put! +1

Certainly interesting news today, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. And those cockpit shots do look amazing.

I hope all the best for Luthier and the others at RRG, wherever they end up.

it's what I meant, I'm not a tar and feathers guy.

Hehehe, all good bud

I have been very vocal in my disappointment of RRG following the Kickstarter for a number of reasons on these forums, and have a keen knack for sticking my foot in my mouth as well. :megalol:

Disappointing news.

Something obviously went awfully bad with this project. I expected a 6 month delay for DCS WW2 but now it appears that we will have about a year of delay, and associated additional risks about its full completion.

Even though Wags says that what happened is not open to discussion, I think that the people who paid for all this are entitled to some kind of explanation. This project was crowd-funded. Maybe some time later, after things have cooled off, but we definitely need an explanation by Luthier and an official post by ED about at least some of the major reasons for this.

Thing thing to take away from this is that the project will continue to move along in development and hasn't been cancelled.

No we don't. ED has stated that they'll honor KickStarter and that's all there's to it. They don't owe us anything, actually!

Wags´s statement indicates that they plan to offer some kind of more detailed explanation, so we can also be thankful for that and wait until they are ready to formulate it. They don´t share RRG´s contractual obligations, but it seems like a good thing to do at this point...

If ED is taking over the project, that means that they are getting funds from our investment. If they are not getting over the funds that the backers paid for, then, yes, they don't have to explain anything. But the work presented in the 109K, has already been done with the backer's resources, unless i am mistaken. And probably other things as well (like the P47), which has now being taken over by ED.

What ever aspect one is looking at it from, an official explanation about what happened and what the features of the new DCS WW2 form will be should be given to the backers. At least that's my point of view. Because they are the ones who made this whole project plausible in the first place.

Remember:

You give money to a Kickstarter Project, so that somebody can make his dream comes true, but if he can`t finished it, you have no rights on your money! - It is like you buy company shares on the stock exchange!

Short Question: will we backer able to fly in August 2014 – Fw 190 D-9 Dora, in October 2014 - BF-109K and soon..... under DCS World?

Edit: we will, if it finish in time.....

This statement is wrong. You need to read the kickstarter agreement before you post things like this.

Once again guys, lets try and avoid discussion on Luthier, funds and such, the important thing is that ED is taking over management of the project, obviously things will fall a little differently as we can see from projected release dates. If you have an questions specific to the project itself, you can share those. I am sure ED will answer more things as the project moves forward.

The only real question I have is "will the sdk still be available? As i recall only RRG mentioned releasing the map making SDK to the community

I dont think this was ever officially added to the KS page, I imagine we will have to see if that was something ED said could be done or not, we will be going over all the rewards and seeing who should have what already, etc.

Can we ask what happened to the funds that were raised in the kickstarter campaign?

Are those funds now transferred to DCS?

How much money did luthier pay himself, etc?

As has been stated, these things arent open for discussion. They have said all they can for right now.

Sad. What a classic example of "fool me once...". Artists obviously did their job at top notch quality, but this was some of the worst management I have ever seen, twice.

Thanks ED for picking up the ball, you have my unlimited support, but I seriously hope this guy never gets anywhere near team management again.

I would simply like a refund of my kickstarter contribution. Then when this sim does get released, I'll buy it. For now, I want my money back please. Tell me how I get it.

I dont think refunds are possible, least on how I understand Kickstarters.
