WildBillKelsoe Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Is it possible to have a boom operator camera as a slot in multiplayer? Can make excellent videos out of DCS and maybe... Maybe... We can get to control the boom itself in the future AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
ENO Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Been brought up a few times but don't hear any feedback on it (from the folks who create such opportunities!) I think it would be an awesome combined arms spot to fill- +1 (again!) "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
ff4life4 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 (edited) This is an awesome idea. Not sure but it may make tanking a bit easier, as the boom can follow you more naturally... Unless the boom operator sucks... then I may have a broken canopy and missing panels :) Only thing I'm afraid of is someone getting in there and "fooling around" Edited July 3, 2014 by ff4life4
Shahdoh Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I took a stab at it using some different views, but 1 problem with the Kc135, is that the windows for the view are not modeled as windows. So, you would not be able to be "inside" the 135 for the view. Maybe someday they will model this in. Would be cool.
ENO Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Only thing I'm afraid of is someone getting in there and "fooling around" Which we get anyway- whether it's a sidewinder in the pooper or a boom in the windshield... I'd definitely like to be able to lock positions to certain ucids and this would be a slot that could be made or broken by someone who took it seriously. Again, a benefit to the squadron mentality and locked servers- but hey... I'd keep the doors open if the program helped me protect against that kind of idiocy (without an added program). ff4life4 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 It would almost be cool if someone did a kc135 module to do tanking. However thats really low on the list of priorities, and i'd rather them not waste time. But if some 3rd party wanted to, it might be cool.. Well on the other hand that might be a really boring module, minus boom operating.
Sceptre Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 For now you could edit the "F4 key view" camera position on the KC-135 to place it where the boom operator sits for some squadron cinematics etc RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
ff4life4 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I believe that the windows are not modeled properly, so you cant see that view. I may be incorrect though
Sceptre Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 They're not, you're right. We would just have to use the external views for now... RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5

ff4life4 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 How did this thread go this far without this ? How did the thread go so far not comparing the fact that the Airforce fighter pilots have the "female end", and the Navy fighters having the "male end" Just kidding of course lol
