[DCS World / FC3] SU-25A & SU-25T English Cockpit Mods

Next question. Does anyone understand how there can be both this type of mod, which modifies the files in the specific aircraft folders and this http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96829 which modifies CockpitsHDTextures.zip in the \Bazar\World\textures folder? I just can't understand how the cockpit files can be in two different places :huh:

I'm not sure, but I think the textures in addressed thread were for previous versions of DCS World and FC3. They won't work with today's 3D cockpits.

You're correct Devrim. DCS does some funky things to keep us modders on our toes between different versions.

 

There are also scenarios with some aircraft/units where some of their textures can be in different places and it drives us nuts trying to locate them all. I spent hours and hours trying to find textures for some vehicles when I was creating the Dessert Terrain vehicle skins

Fantastic work, I missed these cockpit textures when they were first released but had wished for an English Su-25T since using your excellent Mi-8 cockpit.

Hello!

 

Thank you very much for your great work! Yesterday I have tried your english mod for the SU25T.

But I had one problem. The instrument needles dont move. I use actual non steam version of dcs world and english cockpit mod V1.1

 

I will reinstall the mod again today but I thought maybe has anyone a hint for me how to solve it.

This mod won't affect the needles, it only replaces textures, so it is likely that you just didn't have the Electrics turned on.

The folder for these cockpit mods have changed. Fix the folder and they will work.

 

 

The old folder layouts:

 

1- Mods\aircraft\SU-25T\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\

2- Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\

 

New folder layouts:

 

1 -Mods\aircraft\SU-25T\Cockpit\Textures\

2- Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Textures\ ( all Flaming Cliffs cockpit textures go in this folder )

 

 

They basically got rid of the "Resources" and "Model" folders.

Tried this for the SU-25T. Some, but not all of the marking are appearing in English.

Yep, same problem here. However, upon closer inspection, I found the fix. Two of the textures are present in the original ZIP with different name.

 

So to get this to work, starting from Devrim's original v1.2 mod, you have to do the following:

 

First, fix the folder structure as pointed out by Vandal71 above:

 

The old folder layouts:

 

1- Mods\aircraft\SU-25T\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\

 

New folder layouts:

 

1 -Mods\aircraft\SU-25T\Cockpit\Textures\

 

Second, rename two textures:

 

su25t-cpt-tex-02.tga.dds -> SU25T-CPT-TEX-02.dds

 

su25t-cpt-tex-04.tga.dds -> SU25T-CPT-TEX-04.dds

 

That should do the trick. If you are paranoid, do not rename the files, but make a copy of each and rename the copy. This way, should the old texture name still be used under some conditions, it will be there.

 

Dunno if this is actually a bug in 1.5.0 or due to a change in ED's development tools or naming scheme, but until this gets sorted out, the above works.
