SilentGun
is it me or does the takeoff seem a lot more controllable than the dora? MiloMorai
ummm Basicaly, the Bf-109K4 pisses in the P-51 :D And with my elbow resting in the flare pistol, ..that in P-51 you can not do. It does? Using MW 50 and maximum boost the Bf 109 K-4 was the fastest 109 of World War II, reaching a maximum speed of 710 km/h (440 mph) at 7,500 m (24,610 ft.) altitude. Without MW 50 and using 1.80 ATA the K-4 reached 670 km/h (416 mph) at 9,000 m (26,528 ft). The Initial Rate of climb was 2,775 ft. (850 m)/min, without MW 50, and 3,563 ft. (1,090 m)/min, using MW 50.

Virun
I really hope that damage model will be fixed and I will not see a mustang receives a few mk-108 shells and flies away like nothing happend. I really discouraged when dora fire mg-151, hit mustang 3-5 times and mustang not receive any critical damage. saurer
Not sure about the gun pods, if someone has some good data on them, how they worked, etc, I can feature request it. In the cockpit of the K4 we are getting are two lamps labeled MG 151, to the right from the clock and to the left of the ammo counters.
fastfreddie
It does? LcSummers
Cool, second vid. Cant believe it. The K-4 is very near. Tomorrow!!! With the G-10 the K-4 is my favorite plane among the Bf 109.
Kurfürst
It sure does "looks like it". But looks can be deceiving ;) Yes, the rudder pedals were quite lively during the initial run, as they should be. It all looks very good so far, can't wait to try it out! :) http://www.kurfurst.org - The Messerschmitt Bf 109 Performance Resource Site Vezérünk a bátorság, Kísérőnk a szerencse! -Motto of the RHAF 101st 'Puma' Home Air Defense Fighter Regiment The Answer to the Ultimate Question of the K-4, the Universe, and Everything: Powerloading 550 HP / ton, 1593 having been made up to 31th March 1945, 314 K-4s were being operated in frontline service on 31 January 1945. DB 605
wags posted new video taxi and takeoff Just watched video first time with proper sounds (logitech g35 headset) and unfortunately i must say i'm not impressed with interior sounds . 9.JG27 DavidRed
in regards of the sounds its probably hard to judge correctly from a youtube video.but i tend to agree that the sounds i hear in that video do not remind me of a 109...to be honest when i first watched it today, it reminded me somehow of a sportscar. but its beta, and more importantly not even installed on my rig. so i wont judge just yet.lets wait and see...two more days! ED Team NineLine Posted December 1, 2014 Author ED Team Share Posted December 1, 2014 I want to make sure these thoughts are based on real world comparisons as well, not other games. That said I am asking where the sounds come from, if they were sampled from an actual 109 or created from something else. JST
Don't know about the engine sounds, but the K-4 has glaring errors in textures atleast. Wasn't impressed with the gun sounds of the Dora either, staying hopeful about the K, though. My skins/liveries for Fw 190 D-9 and Bf 109 K-4: My blog or Forums. Open for requests as well. Yes, I hope modders really can provide real sound, because they managed to mod even the original studio-quality rig records of P-51 sound. MACADEMIC
More often than not, the units receiving the new-built K-4s had to spend a great deal of time just rectifying mechanical faults and/or sabotage, let alone wasting even more time trying to apply special finishes. As it is, there was only enough fuel for a 15 minute flight test. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/kurfurst/ Interestingly I just spoke to a man in Germany today whose grandfather just passed away at age 103 a couple of weeks ago. He had been a flying instructor and ferry pilot for the Luftwaffe during the war, and had told his grandson of the many crashes he and his colleagues suffered from the bad quality of airplanes that came off the production lines in the final years of the war. Also, that many pilots were lost on ferry flights to free roaming allied fighter pilots who shot what they found, but he escaped many times because he chose the worst weather conditions for his ferry flights, or was hugging the landscape. 9.JG27 DavidRed
the question is, does the game itself somehow apply "world sounds" over the engine sounds, or intefer with the engine soundfiles in another way? im just asking because i just listened to the sound files of the fw190 directly...and there i can listen to lots of details which seem to be just missing while beeing ingame.the soundfiles sound way more detailed and "stronger".really curious about that now...cause they sound awesome. SlipBall
+1, sometimes real life isnt as exciting or fun as what we have been trained to expect things to sound like over the years :) I think for some of us, we draw on our many air show visits. I know that its hard to get those sounds into a game. More than the sound issue, we are all looking forward to flying this baby soon
