Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN
I would buy a new one, as they are 90 new, i wouldnt buy a second hand one, and its a sparkle, buy a better make for 80-90£ and get a guarantee with it. I despise flea bay so my opinion may not matter. It does come from my city :p but i still wouldnt buy it for that price when they are that new. also, for a video card, the vanilla 6600 is shite, you would be better off with the 6800gs/gt or the gt version of the 6600, the 6600 isnt a good card, and just cuz they have stuck a load of ram on it, doesnt make it any better. keep your 90, and wait 1 or 2 weeks, and when the 7900gtxs come out, the price for the 6800gs/gt's will be slashed thus you will get a better card for your money. 2 x 6600gt's in sli get beat by 1 6800gt, so you see, its not that great of a card. I could sell ya a brand new 6800gt in its box but its agp and not pci-e. if interested pm me, but we talking £150+ just to let you know what ballpark the price would be.... RonnieFrown
Well, this is what I have so far: Motherboard: ASUS P5GD1-VM Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 915G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Processor: Intel Pentium 4 550 Prescott 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor Model BX80547PG3400E I have about $200-250 for a videocard, but I have no idea which one is the best for this money. What would you buy?
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN
if the mobo is agp, the get the 6800gt or the ati 800/850 if the mobo is pci-express, then get the 7800gt, or the 7600 or 7900gt. i dont really know what cards sell for in the states but you have an option of a few cards with 2-250$. I am not sure if you could get the ati 1800 for 250$, but the cards I have mentioned are all good cards, some better than others, but the 7900gt is meant to be in the $300 area and is meant to be a really good card. RonnieFrown
The mobo is pci-express. I just looked around a bit. Yep, that's right the 7900 starts from 300 bucks. 7800gt starts from $269. 6800gt from $169. X800 is the less expensive. They start from 130 bukcs. hmmmm.........Is there a big difference in gameplay between the 7800 and the 6800?
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN
yea, massive difference compared from the 6800gt to the 7800gtx. i cant say about the 7800gt but i presume there will also be a huge difference compared to the 68s, but ive heard the 78gt is an amazing card for its price... it also is a good overclocker.
