Crashing for as long as I can remember

Hey there,

first time poster, long time lurker here!

I've been suffering from many crashes with DCS. When the game crashes, it brings me the usual "DCS has stopped working" dialogue with the failing module name being "d3dx9_43.dll". This has been the only type of crash I've been getting with this game and has stopped me playing online with friends.

Any help with this would be appreciated :)

EDIT: It may also be worth noting that I use Diveplanes sound mods for the aircraft I own as well as a "Enhanced Terrain" mod to change how the ground tiles look.

Have you updated your DirectX recently? Give that a go, and maybe a clean install of DCS World.

Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7-9700K @ 4.6GHz, Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (8GB VRAM) on 34" LG curved monitor @ 3440x1440, 32GB RAM, TrackIR 3 (with Vector Expansion), Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Pedals, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs.

I had same problem till I updated Visual C++64bit.

some one here might post a link to it.

Check out this thread. It may be due to the GPU overheating.

Hey guys :), Just checking in to say I've just updated C++ and I have turned the fan up to a higher speed on the GPU to try and prevent the potential overheating issue, will try and play some DCS now. I'll edit this post with any findings. Thanks for the suggestions!

Okay, apparently the 660Ti SC is good up until 80+ degrees according to numerous sources, crashing occurs at around 75*. I've played DCS for a few hours without crashing out with the error mentioned in the OP. Must be the graphics card overheating as I placed a desk fan next to the PC with the side panel off and it's fine. Time to buy a new case it seems :P

That's what I assumed it was.

I had a 560Ti that would crash after a while in various games (but only some) due to the unique voltage setting Gigabyte had placed on the GPU.

You can try downclocking the GPU slightly or slightly lowering the Voltage.
