Comodo Simulations Collective/Cyclic

Anyone using one of these? Impressions? I have read that they are top in the feeling and controlability of the heli sims... Bit expensive thought, but you get what you pay for, right?

I have the Komodo VBS pro cyclic. I got the 350 version but other grips are available now. I couldn't stretch to the collective and pedals at the time and got a different set from another manufacturer (which I ended up having to modify). The cyclic is really nice. I use it for xplane and FSX helicopters also. Rich, the owner is a really nice guy as well. I'd highly recommend it if you're into helicopter simulators.

Hi Guys,

Sorry totally missed this thread, thanks for the heads up Chic.

We are very close now for both the Huey Cyclic and the KA-50 Cyclic and Collective. I've had a load of rush commercial orders in recently that has taken up my evening and weekend development times.

But the KA-50 Cyclic will be here next week. They had a slight problem when printing it so it was delayed. The Huey Collective head has now been engraved, just waiting for the new head box to arrive in the next couple of weeks along with the KA-50 Collective.

I don't where this year is disappearing to already, still haven't found 2014 yet either.

Quick update! New 'Starter Trigger' underneath the collective and with all new switches to match the ones in DCS.

These look great Komodo, but can you please hire some one to help you, it's pretty obvious you can't keep up with demand and RnD at the same time (just by looking at your facebook and previous posts some of these things have been in development 3+ years ago) and orders are running 3 months late.

The products are great, so back em up with a proper serious business.

Yah, if you want to fly Komodosim you gotta wait, but your told up front.

In my experience, this company's "back em up" is as good as it gets.

Well Best things come to those who wait. :)

We have to remember this isn't Richs full time job, I understand he's actully a full time helicopter pilot ( lucky sod ), so obviously he can only work on these on his down time.

That said I've met and spoken with Rich several times as well as tried out his cyclic and collective at the Weston Flight sim show. They really are great products, hoping to get the Huey collective ordered myself later this year. I appriciate I will have to wait a number of months to get it, but I also know it will be worth it.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the comments, all appreciated. I did experience some delays last year due to a large amount of orders placed close to together. This was something I had never had before and it totally caught me out I admit. I've changed the way I take orders now to make sure the customer knows the delivery time upfront.

I would love to be able to take someone on to help, but I just can't afford too. That first step of employing someone else is a massive jump for a small company like Komodo, but I'm getting there.

Yeah it's never easy starting out, but the good thing about having a fairly niche product is that you don't need to spend a lot on advertising, most of your sales come from communities, and social media.

One of the main reasons though, that I've never ordered, is because there is a lack of information online - I'd love to see some videos of these controls set up in a home cockpit and being used to control a simulator (DCS preferably!) with close ups of things moving, buttons being pressed, sliders etc to get a really good idea of the quality of the controls - take a typical saitek-x55 review, get really podantic about it. It's hard to put money down on something you've only seen a few snaps of.

Hi guys,

I'm just getting a new curved display setup at the moment using Simpit Technologies Black Pearl Screen. I will then be getting a full setup sorted in a small corner of the workshop where I will be filming a load of new videos. PC Pilot are also doing a full review of my controls in July. I'm getting there, not enough hours in the day along with a young family and the normal day job, getting orders out the door is hard enough let alone working on development. I'm starting to train my dad up to help ease the load a little. He only wants paying in food and he gets to see lots more of is grand kids!

Hi KomodoSim,

Came across your website a while ago and was impressed with the controls shown. Contacted you through your website.

Was initially excited, but after a while of 'no reply', it left me rather hesitant to pursue actual ordering.

Like 'FlyingHighAU', noticed old info on your site and was disappointed not to get a reply, as your controls seem to be of high quality.

By accident came across this threat and noticed you were on here too.

Could you please tell me what is the best way of ordering your controls?

Best Regards.

Hi DSPALLASVI,

Really sorry if I missed you enquiry, just a quick note that my replies will come from an info@ address and I have had quite a few people have this email go straight to their junk mail box without realising. One thing I always try to do is reply to all enquires in some for or other within 24hrs.

I've sent you a PM with details of how best to get in touch.

Once again very sorry for missing your enquiry.
