You need to find the corresponding graphics files and split the big pic up into the same segments. It can be done, but it would be long and painful. Aircraft carriers are actually prevented from entering the Black Sea through a treaty of some kind - the Kuz only managed to get out through not technically being an aircraft carrier. I think the Turks control it - suppose in a real shooting way if political pressure was applied then a carrier MIGHT be allowed in. Wouldn't really be needed, though - there's plenty enough land bases around there. edit - found the treaty online. The Montreux convention of 1936 regarding the regime of the Turkish straits. Having said that, I can't find the bit in it which strictly prohibits aircraft carriers from passing through it . . . . have seen it posted many times, will keep looking. edit 2 - there is a warship tonnage limit of 15,000 tons which may be exceeded by the Black Sea powers in sending single capital ships through. Aircraft carriers are not considered within capital ships. Think that might be it. Ah, but, "only those vessels which are not over-age shall be taken into consideration". So once your aircraft carrier is more than 20 years old, it's not subject to the tonnage limit. What an interesting read this is proving to be . . . . The Kuznetsov's get-out clause may be found here: Aircraft-Carriers are surface vessels of war, whatever their displacement, designed or adapted primarily for the purpose of carrying and operating aircraft at sea. Yes but only if you are a Black Sea power:icon_excl . So this may well have been used to allow the Admiral K to leave the Black Sea, but could not be used to let a US carrier into the Black Sea. The only way I could find for that to happen is Articles 20 and 21. Article 20. In time of war, Turkey being belligerent, the provisions of Articles 10 to 18 shall not be applicable; the passage of warships shall be left entirely to the discretion of the Turkish Government. Article 21. Should Turkey consider herself to be threatened with imminent danger of war she shall have the right to apply the provisions of Article 20 of the present Convention.
