Thanks Crazyeddie. The reason you can't find anything on VMA-343 is it was a squadron commissioned specifically/only to draw new aircraft (the A4D-2N at the time) and then swap them wholesale for the older aircraft in an operating squadron, that were then transitioned to the reserves. In the case of VMA-343 we swapped brand new A4D-2N Skyhawks for VMA-223's older and being phased out FJ4-B's. Once we had sent all the FJ4-B's to the reserves, VMA-343 was disbanded and all the squadron personnel were assigned to the various operating squadrons. I personally went to VMA-121, an A4D-2N squadron. I/ve attached an image of the squadron patch.

Agreed, Skatezilla did a fantastic job on the template, but I hope we get an official one with UVWs soon. Im working on some Norwegian skins and some of them have three different colors on the nose, which is a real pain to match up when you can't really see what you're painting over.

 

yeah there's no way I can do UVW Overlays without the source MAX Scene.

To help with the notches, open the default livery, and use it as an alignment guide.

 

You can also run model viewer with wireframe overlay.

You did a fantastic job on that skin. I especially like the way you did the intake and the number on it. Was much easier actually painting the real a/c with all that stuff than trying to do it on a computer.;)

4 Aust Sabre Skins. These are complete, im just getting them loaded to DCS now, may take a day or so, the skins are all my work, except the camouflage model that was first made by nhenley85 Nuck. However i did the Aussie work on that skin in my version, i also gave it an Aussie accent.....:music_whistling: Thanks Nuck for your great cam job and giving me the ability for an Australian version. Great Skins Strut, nice to see you got the numbers on the nose too, I could not get that right.

 

This VMA 343 skin was done for Chief 1942. Another pretend Fury. Should be available soon.

About to release John Glenn's "Mig Mad Marine".

Tinkered about with the NM finish as I thought my previous attempt was too blue. Airbrake's interiors are now green and the fuel dump pipe is now red.

Thanks to Basco1 for research assistance and Upuaut for help with the template.
