NightFlier
A quick workaround is to: - CUT the folder "Mirage F1" from DCS Main Folder\Mods\Aircraft and copy that in a safe place (backup folder you prefer). - Run Kneeboard Builder and do whatever you need to do; - When finished, put the Mirage F1 folder back where you cut it. In this way you avoid installing and reinstalling via DCS. 1 2 Night Flier _________________________________________________________________________________________ i7 9700K, MSI RTX 2080, 32GB RAM (3200 MHz), SSD m.2 1TB, Monitor 32'' WQHD 2560x1440, Windows 10 Pro

skypickle
I'm late to this party. Been trying to configure kneeboard builder. I have one DCS open beta on my C drive at the root and anoter DCS folder on a D drive. When I set the the DCS folder location in the preofs of kneeboard builder, I select the folder on the C drive. I save but then when I reopen the prefs it is pointing to the C drive. The kneeboard builder folder is in the Downloads folder on the C drive. After I set the the location in the prefs to the DCS on the C drive, the file, KneeboardBuilder.exe.Config, shows this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <appSettings> <add key="DpiSetting" value="150" /> <add key="DCSpath" value="C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta" /> <add key="SavedGamesPath" value="C:\Users\Stefan\Saved Games" /> <add key="PriorVersion" value="False" /> <add key="PriorComponents" value="False" /> <add key="AllowUpdate" value="True" /> <add key="Notifications" value="False" /> <add key="DCSVersion" value="OpenBeta" /> <add key="KeepClear" value="True" /> <add key="Mig21KeepClear" value="False" /> <add key="Mig21DefaultKneeboard" value="False" /> <add key="LiteMode" value="False" /> <add key="UserMods" value="True" /> <add key="DCSexeVersion" value="2.7.16.28157" /> </appSettings> </configuration> If I simply open the prefs from kneeboard builder it shows the D drive location and the config file in the kneeboard folder shows this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <appSettings> <add key="DpiSetting" value="150" /> <add key="DCSpath" value="D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\" /> <add key="SavedGamesPath" value="C:\Users\Stefan\Saved Games" /> <add key="PriorVersion" value="False" /> <add key="PriorComponents" value="False" /> <add key="AllowUpdate" value="True" /> <add key="Notifications" value="False" /> <add key="DCSVersion" value="OpenBeta" /> <add key="KeepClear" value="True" /> <add key="Mig21KeepClear" value="False" /> <add key="Mig21DefaultKneeboard" value="False" /> <add key="LiteMode" value="False" /> <add key="UserMods" value="True" /> <add key="DCSexeVersion" value="2.7.14.24228" /> </appSettings> </configuration> Why does kneeboard builder switch to my DCS on the D drive with no provocation? 4930K @ 4.5, 32g ram, TitanPascal
Rudel_chw
2 hours ago, skypickle said: Why does kneeboard builder switch to my DCS on the D drive with no provocation? There are two methods to use Kneeboard Builder with multiple versions of DCS World: 1) Use one install of Kneeboard Builder and switch between DCS World versions using the DCS World Version dropdown in the Preferences window. or 2) Make a copy of the Kneeboard Builder folder for each version of DCS World and set the DCS World Version dropdown in the Preferences window for each Kneeboard Builder instance. Which way were you using? ... the version dropdown is the one I used back when I had both Stable and OpenBeta installed simultaneously: For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600X - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia GTX1070ti - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar - Oculus Rift CV1 Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
skypickle
Well I had two copies of kneeboard builder-one on each drive. I made sure to point the kneeboard builder on the C drive to the DCS world open beta folder on the C drive. I did NOT however specify custom in the dropdown. Rather I just selected openbeta. Selecting custom allows me to specify the correct dcs world openbeta folder and it NOW REMEMBERS IT! So the other entries in the dropdown are a little confusing as it seems they can point to locations which might not even exist. 4930K @ 4.5, 32g ram, TitanPascal

The other entries work if you have a standard install .. but on your case you have placed DCS on non-standard folders, so the KB gets confused about it. Chic
Help requested. Long time KB Builder user. I tried to build a kneeboard for newly acquired AH-64D. KB Builder listed AH-64D under "aircraft" but it crashes each time i attempt to Create a group. A folder with the file name of the Group I attempt to create does, however, become listed in the Kneeboard Builder folder. When I add images to the AH-64D module the old fashion way through Saved Games using folder name AH-64D, it doesn't work. It does work if I name the folder AH-64D_BLK_II. Updated and reinstalled KBer, no luck. Any help appreciated. AlaskanGrizzly
Kneeboard Builder Update to Version 1.9.0.0 I have put together a fix for the crashes due to different file structures in newer modules like the AH-64 and Mirage F-1. Unfortunately due to a hosting issue on my end, the auto update feature is no longer working so you can either: 1) Download the new KneeboardBuilder.exe and manually copy it to your Kneeboard Builder folder from here: https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/kneeboardbuilder.appspot.com/o/betas%2FKneeboardBuilder 1.9.0.0.zip?alt=media&token=208c991c-0a7e-4dbc-924e-85c32418836c or 2) Redownload the full Kneeboard Builder app from the website at: https://dcskneeboardbuilder.com/download.html I appreciate feedback and bug reports so keep them coming, just be aware that there may be long periods between my responses and bug fixes. When I first made this mod public I had two kids and a job, and now I have five kids and an extremely time consuming career.
