I'm running DCS 2.8.0.32235.1 Open Beta and I'm getting this error when I try to open Kneeboard Builder 1.9.0.0:

---------------------------
System.ArgumentNullException: Il valore non può essere null.
Nome parametro: path
   in System.IO.Directory.GetParent(String path)
   in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel.BackupAircraftDefaultGroups(String _origPath)
   in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel.LoadAircraftData()
   in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel.Initilization()
   in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel..ctor()
   in KneeboardBuilder.Views.MainView..ctor()

Any idea anyone?

Just coming here to post same thing.  I have a new PC (Win11) and trying to set this up.  Upon startup, there's a configuration window asking for folder locations.  I establish them and the program restarts.  Presents this error

Will send this to their address as well.

All I can say, is that v1.9,0 works for me .. Install the Microsoft runtimes, as this is an old software and your Windows probably has only the last version of the runtimes:

Same as above, most likely Win11 does not include the older runtimes by default.

Good guess, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.  Removed KneeboardBuilder, installed all the runtimes, rebooted and still have same error.

Not the end of the world, I can manually manipulate the files.  Thanks for trying, @Rudel_chw!

Pity, maybe it's something related to Windows 11, as I'm still on Windows 10 .. It really works for me:

Possibly related to the font you are using. I've never had a problem but can imagine some fonts might cause trouble if the font is not one of the Adobe originals and not embedded in the pdf file. You might check the pdf properties (hit control-D while viewing the pdf file in Adobe Reader) to see what font info is in the file.

I'm Softball on Multiplayer. NZXT Player Three Prime, i9-13900K@3.00GHz, 64GB DDR5, Win 11 Home, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 24GB, TrackIR 5, VKB Gunfighter III with MCG Ultimate grip, VKB STECS Standard Throttle, CH Pro pedals

it shows the fonts are embedded. I created the PDF from an Excel file initially

Dynamic Mission Briefing LUAs don't seem to do anything in my mission. They are in the mission under \KNEEBOARD\IMAGES, but when the mission loads, they are just blank grey pages, no mission frequencies or NAVAIDS. Does anyone know if they still work?

Looks like the utility has problems to create the destination kneeboard ... what folders are you using? on my KB the folders used are these:

Jsvk97F.jpg

Kneeboard Groups contains the various PDF files you have imported into KB. Note that it is within the /Progream Files/ path, which is a Windows protected location, this requires the utility to be operated under Admin privileges, like this:

hOHjrqq.jpg

Please, show me your config on this same way, to see if I can detect what may be causing the issue.

Here is my KB config file which is similar to your config.

?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
    <appSettings>
        <add key="DpiSetting" value="300" />
        <add key="DCSpath" value="F:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta" />
        <add key="SavedGamesPath" value="C:\Users\13057\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta" />
        <add key="PriorVersion" value="False" />
        <add key="PriorComponents" value="False" />
        <add key="AllowUpdate" value="False" />
        <add key="Notifications" value="False" />
        <add key="DCSVersion" value="Custom" />
        <add key="KeepClear" value="False" />
        <add key="Mig21KeepClear" value="False" />
        <add key="Mig21DefaultKneeboard" value="False" />
        <add key="LiteMode" value="False" />
        <add key="UserMods" value="True" />
        <add key="DCSexeVersion" value="2.8.1.34667" />
    </appSettings>
</configuration>

I have the KB group folder in E:\kneeboard>kneeboardBuilder>Kneeboard Groups.  I went ahead and checked Admin privileges anyway.  I went ahead and put KB in my program files in my c drive but got the same result.  The loading screen comes on but in the task manager, the CPU goes to 0.    What else can I provide you with?
