Nascar
When I was searching to get a new Gpu, I saw a lot of reviews saying just get the 2Gb Gtx 760 because you will not benefit from the extra ram. I made a mission and Msi Afterburner showed Gpu1 max 97% with max ram at 3490 and Gpu2 max 95% with Max ram at 3490. I definitely think it was a benefit to get the 4Gb. The Gtx 780ti should be more than 3Gb, in my opinion. Beaver McFanny
I have been using a GTX 680 4Gb for 18 months now and DCS regularly uses 3.4 Gb vram at 1080p in multiplayer. I was thinking about going for a GTX 780ti some time ago, but with only 3 Gb vram I decided to wait for the next batch of cards from NVidia (800 or possibly 900 series). With any luck EDGE may not be as resource hungry as the current engine.:) Asus Maximus VII Gene/i5 4690K @4.6Ghz/EVGA GTX 1080 Classified watercooled/16Gb Corsair Vengeance Pro 2133Mhz/2 x Corsair 128Gb ssd in Raid 0/1 x OCZ Revodrive 3 x2 480Gb/1 x Seagate Barracuda 2 Tb hd and 1 x WD Caviar 600 Gb hd/EVGA Gold 750w psu/Corsair H80i cpu cooler/Windows 10 Pro 64-bit/Corsair 500R case/Corsair K95 keyboard/Logitech MX Master wireless mouse/Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog #41581/VKB T-Rudder MK2 pedals/TrackIR 5/Samsung 49" 4K 3D Screen/Samsung sound bar and sub. Nascar
I wonder if the raw power of the 780ti makes it need less vram? It would suck to spend $700 only to get stutters. scheffchen
Vram usage is not equal to vram needed. Gtx 780ti runs great om games. However next month the gtx 900 series will come out and priices will drop.... 9900k, 2080TI, 64GB, ssd, valve index, Thrustmaster on virpil, virpil cm2 throttle, tpr pedals, mfd. Night
I currently have a single GTX 760 2GB. Do you guys think I would benefit in DCS from having two 760's (identical) in SLI if I bought another? Would it improve DCS? My gaming rig exists solely for DCS. KLR Rico
I hate how it's always the answer, but "wait for EDGE" ;) Currently, DCS doesn't utilize SLI. I don't know if EDGE will support it or not, but it'd be pointless right now. i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
Apache600
I just got a 780 6gb. I couldn't be happier. remember folks, Vram does not stack like system memory does. So if you want to put cards in SLI, you're not going to double the ram. Don't get me wrong, 2 780ti's in SLI would be impressive ... but they would be limited to a max of 3 gb vram. And if these multiplayer games are getting into 3.4 like mentioned ... well, there's your bottleneck. I plan on doing SLI with the 780 6gb in a couple years. They should be considerably cheaper then and it will give my desktop a little bit more future proofing [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
Nascar
Night, I think if you sold your 760 and bought a 770 4gb, you would be better off. KLR Rico, SLI works in DCS.
