Weapon Load broken?

Is the weapon loadout (in the mission editor) broken for the Mig? If I try to load 8 R-60 missiles (4 on each wing) and start the mission, all missiles are gone. After returning to the editor the loadout is empty.

 

This happens for the R-60M, too. It happens independently for each wing. If you assign the same loadout for all stations on that wing, then the wing is empty on mission start. Is the Mig not capable to load 4 R-60 under a single wing?

 

Mixing loadout (2 R-60A and 2 R-60M under each wing) works.

You can't put a pair on the inside ones I've found. So max of 6 it seems.

Not sure why it even gives you the option if you can't put it on.

Well, you can. But you have to load a single missile on the outside ones.

I think Cobra mentioned in another thread that the weapon loadout will auto-correct if you load stuff in a way that's not correct to the real-world loadouts of the MiG-21. For stability, weight or other reasons, the MiG-21 probably can't have more than 2 pairs of R-60's on the wings.

Same happens for me, 2xR-60*4 doesn't work but 2xR-60*2 + R-60*2 (6 total) does

2x R-60A*2 + 2xR-60M*2 also works fine.

 

Edit: What you guys makes sense except that 2x R-60A*2 + 2xR-60M*2 also works fine. that's 8 R-60 split with 4 of each variant.

Maybe. Unfortunately it auto-corrects after mission start and not while creating the loadout. But this may caused by some constraints or missing functionality of DCS.

 

EDIT:And if this is true, then the loadout is broken, because it allows us to load 8 missiles if they are just of different types. :smartass:

This bug still persist in DCS 1.5 You can carry 8 missiles total but only if you have 2x R-60M and 2x R-60 per wing.

If you try to load 4 missiles of the same type you get this black sqare:
