Eldur Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Anyone else noticed the heavily inceased loading time as opposed to the other modules? It's ~30sec more for me, where it stays at ~30-35% of the loading bar. If I build a mission with several "Client" aircraft, it loads up normally and taking seat in any module gets me into the cockpit instantly, where it takes half a minute of "is it doing anything?" type wait until I get into the MiG. Tango Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Not noticed this myself. I get a bit of a delay after un-pausing, but otherwise it seems fine. Best regards, Tango.
Highwayman-Ed Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Mission loads do seem longer with the MiG, or maybe it's just my impatience to get in the cockpit! Corrigan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 This is to do with texture size, apparently. Personally I think it's worth it. Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
johnv2pt0 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I also have very long load times with missions that have mig in it. Multiplayer missions that used to load up instantly now make me think the game is crashing. I'm running off an SSD

outlawal2 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Interesting as I just loaded the latest Nvidia drivers and thought that that update along with the new version of DCS ... Loaded a LOT FASTER on my machine... Weird.. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
cichlidfan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I will have to take a look again. I thought load times were on the long side, but I haven't flown anything but the Mig on the new patch. Might check before I update Nvidia, too, since I didn't do that yet. Mode Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 imo they should introduce alternative texture sets for med and low end machines, people that want performance. That's a good idea. I would like MiG to have simpler and heavier texture and model sets for the best performance variant.
runny Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I too have massively longer loading times. Roughly 3-400% longer for loading a SP mission. I run DCS from a SSD drive too (like many people) and I don think that loading textures would take it so much longer.
Eldur Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Is this by chance fixed? Was curious how fast it loaded today when I made my first 1.2.15 try. Would be great! :)
