Radio freq Awacs

Which radio freq communicates with Awacs?

You have to set the frequency yourself in the ME (advanced waypoint options).

DCS:A-10C / DCS:Ka-50 / DCS:UH-1H / DCS:Mig21bis / DCS:P-51D / DCS:Mi-8MTV2 / DCS:Fw190D9 / DCS:Bf109K4 / DCS:C-101EB / DCS:L-39C / DCS:F-5E / DCS:Spitfire LF Mk. IX / DCS:AJS37

No need dedicated freq. Just take "\" Radio menu and AWACS/Ground control.

No problem for me.

If no dedicated frequency is needed then this is obviously a bug. But I doubt this.

Just add an AWACS in a mission, change the radio channel and try to connect. If this works for every channel, then there is something wrong. If it won't work, you NEED a dedicated frequency.

in campaign is 0

But that wasn't the question. And even in a campaign, the briefing should tell you this.

I tried this also, putting an E3A in the mission, when I bring up the comms I see it listed but when I try to contact it I only hear myself.

I wish someone would create a Video of mission building for the Mig21 and adding freq's for EW sites, EW Aircraft the manual is not very helpful on setting up GCI for a complete Nooob.

Some of us need "Mission Building for Dummies" :noexpression:

Okay, I just spend a few minutes figuring out how to set up an AWACS in the mission editor for the Mig-21 BIS. Here's how it's done:

-Add a plane, set "Type" to "Mig-21 BIS" and "Skill" to "Player".

-Add another plane. Set it's "Type" to "E-3A" (AWACS plane) and make sure "Task" is set to "AWACS". Next to "Com" set its "Mhz" to "124" (standard Mig-21 channel 0).

- Make sure the AWACS has at least 1 waypoint. If you do not set 1 or more waypoints, it will immediately try to return to base and stop any AWACS service it provides. I recommend setting up a waypoint pattern for it.

That's it.

The most important parts are setting the AWACS radio frenquency and it's waypoint. The MIG-21 does not come with a preset radio frequency that will match the standard radio frenquency of 251 mhz that the AWACS has as standard, so you must either change the frequency of the AWACS to one of the MIG-21's preset channel, or set one of your MIG's preset channels to be 251 mhz.

The waypoint is also important. If the AWACS spawn without a waypoint, it will not just default to some orbit pattern while providing AWACS services. It will simply go "screw this, im going home" and stop whatever task is assigned to it.

Hope that helped a little.
