ExGreyFox
Building my dad a flight sim setup with some of my old hardware. He wants to fly on a single monitor at 1920x1080 and is getting my old i7 2600k (4.6ghz), 8GB RAM, and 128 GB SSD. I was thinking a GTX 760 2GB would be good for him. Is this a good choice for DCS and EDGE on a single monitor 1080? outlawal2
No one knows for sure about EDGE but that setup will run DCS nicely for now.. Maybe have to turn some things down a bit but certainly decent ... If you can afford one model up on the GPU though I think you will have a bit more room for EDGE when it comes out... EDGE SHOULD run better from the fact that it utilizes DX11, but they are also adding a LOT of eyecandy as well so my guess is that when all is said and done EDGE will run SLIGHTLY slower than current DCS but will look tremendous. (And that is my BEST GUESS and as such it is worth what it is worth..) "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
Gladman
I currently run an i7 2600 at 3.4Ghz and I can tell you that with a GTX780 it will hold 60fps at max settings on 1920x1080 resolution. I also have 8GB Ram at 1333 and my HDD is a SATA. You may see better performance with the SSD, not sure. Its a great thing with one monitor. The three monitor setup I run now hold 20-25fps steady on max settings but with overclocking it may do more. Medium settings get me up to 30-40fps. theGozr
Well the i7-2600K is probably batter than your own actually :) great OC cpu . Fly it like you stole it..
Godzila
I have 760 4GB with g3258 oc to 4Ghz, everything else similar as you. I have limited 60 fps in the air and minimum 30 fps with occasional drops to 25 at most demanding places. Average probably 45 fps at high settings except shadows, water, heat blur and AA off and with civil traffic high. Right now it is all CPU bottlenecked, but EDGE will probably be different. Everything about edge is speculation, but he will probably be good until then, and in my opinion even beter after.
