Corrigan
Lol! Thanks! We had quite a bit of respect for the "Flygvapnet" by the way. I loved the way you guys landed Viggens on streches of highways! Aw. Well, if Sweden is out I always cheer for Canada in hockey. Incidentally, here's a pretty sweet video of that. HellToupee
I know what you're trying to say now, but you never know- there's at least one 'study' out there that suggests the mig21 is somehow competitive with modem fighters in bfm, and it's simply not true. As an aircraft, it is inferior. Mig-17 was inferior to the F4, they still shot a bunch down with plain old fashioned guns, real life wasnt some aircraft 1 on 1. WildBillKelsoe
IIRC an Egyptian pilot did that maneuver in 1973 war and I don't recall if he beat the Israeli pilot or they just extended or got beaten.. But I saw that in a CGI documentary.. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. But I saw that in a CGI documentary.. He got gunned recovering from the Split-S. Here's the story as told by the Israeli Pilot himself: http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=101170&d=1405795002 Edited September 25, 2014 by 159th_Viper Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? mjeh
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-VNSJMiNt0 Look at approx 0:15, that's the cobra maneuver. Point being, I've seen the MiG-21 pull some pretty cool high AoA stuff in DCS (and I'm in no way qualified to say if this is realistic or not), but never a proper cobra. EDIT 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dggtma54dZc PAK-FA doing one at 0:28, just for the sake of being cool to watch :) Edited September 25, 2014 by mjeh typing poorly
