ericoh
The chute cant be detached on the latest patch. It can be, but you need to go to like afterburner power in order to detach it. I doubt thats intended?

QuiGon
Make sure you open the cover in order to be able to use the switch! Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing! stray cat
As ericooh said, it only appears to work when I am near 100% thrust. Not sure if that is a bug or by design? Also the cover for the switch does not matter, if I am near 100% thrust the hotkey I assigned works and detaches it, but it dont do that if I am at 50%. stray cat
Ok the game fooled me, fun story: As ericoh mentioned, the chute key only appears to work when the thrust is at near 100%. However what actually happens is the chute tearing off by itself, however if I press my detach key around the same time that moment more or less overlaps with the tearing off. All with the button cap not removed. Works flawlessly with the cap off. Silly DCS is so hardcore it plays tricks on you
159th_Viper
Reading the manual would have prevented the game from fooling you. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? golani79
Detached it when thrust was on idle without problems - used the mouse in the cockpit for it. >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
Corrigan
Why the fugg were you detaching your chute at 100% power? Emergency go-around? 159th_Viper
Why the fugg were you detaching your chute at 100% power? Emergency go-around? He was not detaching it: He was ripping it off. Neglected to remove cover from jettison button so only way chute would detach would be to rip it off with thrust. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Corrigan
He was not detaching it: He was ripping it off. Neglected to remove cover from jettison button so only way chute would detach would be to rip it off with thrust. I know, but he was trying to detach it. That's how he got confused; the ripping off from thrust coincided with him pushing the button. I guess I should have said "Why the fugg were you trying to detach your chute at 100% power?"
