Exocet Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Hi all I wonder if I should activate random failures What do you think? Do you know the average frequency of These failures? thanks
Exorcet Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I wouldn't use them for single missions, but for a campaign I think they can add to the fun. I don't really know the failure rate for equipment, but there is probably some limited info to be found if you search. It might be easier to just estimate based on how well maintained you want your forces to be. For example, just use low failure rates for a well maintained force but increase failures for less well equipped military. Corrigan Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I've tried a few times, years ago, and I found they were unrealistically high. Like, you can probably expect at least one serious fault in a mission. It might have changed, though. If it meant I had to deal with a mission-jeopardizing fault every ten missions or so, I'd probably play with it on. Exocet Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 I tested for 3 days and no failure! its good :)
Alkaline Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 NO!, I tryed it tonight. I've been struggling with a mission, approx 10 restarts. In the middle of that, I decided to try "random failures". Do u know how pissed I got after 5+ minutes of startup and configuring everything, and then moments after T/O, my engine blows up... spud3030 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 LOL fly a ARH and they'll prolly be understated hehehehehe
Archer7 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 About how many failures/hour does this option currently create? Has anyone experimented? It would be nice if it was adjustable via a slider so you could easily set failures/hour (average) or failures/mission.
Corrigan Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 It was a problem patches and patches ago. (To many making it unrealistic) Fixed now though. Ah! Cool. That's actually really nice to hear. I might turn them on, then! In MP, is the client setting used at all? Or is it forced to the serverside setting?
