Jediteo 发布于2014年10月3日 发布于2014年10月3日 The manual is wrong! I have charts!!! Downloaded off the interwebs, based on three not completely unrelated anecdotes retold half a century after the fact by a probably German test pilot who back in '43 flew an aircraft which shared certain switch positions with the MiG-19 which should be fairly close to the MiG-21. The data was gathered by three thousand shakespearean monkeys with typewriters in an obscure forum related to kitchen appliances. The charts were then fudged to make it feeeeeeeeel right. Some of the monkeys had actual typewriter experience, so the charts cannot be wrong! (They're also drawn with three perpendicular green lines in blue ink and contain the shape of a kitten.) You are such a fanboi. I bet you wish you could spend your entire life just trying to make a member of the team behind the aircraft comfortable. :D Cheers, /Fred I'll have what he's having :). I would have believed them too, except the nosecone clipped through the side of the fuselage. And the drag effect would not be significant enough to be used as a trimming force. Also static pressure asymmetry in a turbine would lead to a compressor stall. Im pretty sure even the Mig-21 uses compressor bleed valves.

Also static pressure asymmetry in a turbine would lead to a compressor stall. Im pretty sure even the Mig-21 uses compressor bleed valves. Good thinking! But this one is actually true: The Syrian version also used it for lining up the tail hook for retrieving ejected pilots during a mid-air CSAR operation. I have a chart for it somewhere if you don't believe me... 'Frett'

TurboHog 发布于2014年10月4日 发布于2014年10月4日 Ah, yes. That's the chart! It's a very good chart. It clearly shows the relation between Syrian Mig-21's and the tail hook for retrieving ejected pilots during a mid-air CSAR operations. If you look closely, you can see that it is indicated by the word 'Yes'. 1 'Frett'
