golfsierra2
Finally..... The Virtual Tactical Fighter Squadron 161 (VTFS 161) proudly presents: The Lock-On WebRing is online, providing a new tool for consolidation of the world wide Lock-On community ! Squads and Wings now can join the WebRing by registering their homepages ('Join'), by that making it a part of the ring. The person registering creates an own unique user profile, allowing editing the description of the site and even deleting the homepage from the ring. By using the functions 'Next', Previous' and 'Random', you can click from one site to another till you come back to your starting point. 'Hub' gives you an overview about already registered ring participants. The LockOn-WebRing comes WITHOUT ANY ADVERTISEMENT and only requires to put some lines of Java-Script into the code of the index page. Come and join !! Try this site as a starting point: http://www.vtfs-161.de/ or any of the three test sites (all menues are fully operational) http://www.free-space.at/lock-on-testsite1/ http://www.free-space.at/lock-on-testsite2/ http://www.free-space.at/lock-on-testsite3/ 1 kind regards, Raven.... golfsierra2
it seems so cool, but where is the english site? I don't understand german language.... You probably will see even web sites in French language or others, it's up to the web site owners. Bottom line is, that the webring will guide you to other international Lock-On homepages, so you then can make contact via their guestbook or contact address, regardless of the language the intro page is written. As for my squad, I will propose to the other membres to have a language selector somewhere on the intro page. kind regards, Raven.... golfsierra2
Excuse my retardness, but, how do I get the "hub" onto my site? Somehow ( blaim it on the beer) I cant find a propper protocol....:icon_jook No prob, here comes a brief description about how to join: - find the 'Lock-On WebRing' logo at the bottom of a registered homepage - click "Join" - a form for registering your homepage will appear - create your personal login (username, password) for later adminstration - enter a valid email address. The confirmation message and info from the webring host will be sent there - provide a site name - provide the URL of the web page where the java-script will be added to (where the Lock-On WebRing logo will appear) - provide a short description of the homepage, e.g. some words about your squad / wing. This info will be displayed when somebody looks for the 'Ring Hub' - click "Add" when you are finished. An email will be sent to the email address provided by you. In this email, a link for confirmation will be provided, just to make sure that nobody else can register your homepage. - click on that confirmation link. A new page will appear, giving you the java-script code that you should then put into the coding of your homepage (most likely the index.html or index.php), just copy and paste it. This code will display the Lock-On WebRing logo on your homepage. - I (webring host) will receive an email telling me that you registered your homepage. I then will run an online check (looking automatically for the java-script on your homepage). If the script is online, I will activate your site. - your homepage then is an active member of the ring. -you will receive another email saying that your homepage has been approved. - you can login with your username and password and edit the hompage description shown under 'Ring Hub' and even delete your homepage from the ring, if you want to. Any questions so far ? There are no pop-ups, spam emails or else.... kind regards, Raven.... Mytos
N1 idea, but the ring isn't closed. I started at your site clicking 'next' coming to "Fighters' Den". Again 'next' coming to "355th Sqaud" and the ring ends up there. I can't find a 'Lock-On WebRing' logo at the bottom of this homepage. Shaman
It is an evidence that LockOn related websites' owners are also loosing interest in this sim and its community. Or maybe I'm wrong? 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
Joe Kurr
Great Idea! I've added my website (dutch-flankers.net) to the ring, but the webring logo doesn't work yet (need to re-design the home page for that) So for the moment I stuck with the link in the <noscript> section. Will update the site when I find the time (hopefully this week-end). Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award

golfsierra2
include this cool site http://alamai10.hollosite.com/archers%20site/ Well, you have to register your homepage yourself. That is because then you can edit the web site's description and un-register if you once want to. Please start here http://www.crc-mindreader.de/ringmaker.php?Add or use the 'join' function at the Lock On Web Ring Logo on one of these ring member homepages : http://www.vtfs-161.de/ http://digilander.libero.it/lockon/ http://www.lockonskins.co.uk/ http://www.free-space.at/lock-on-testsite1/ http://www.free-space.at/lock-on-testsite2/ http://www.free-space.at/lock-on-testsite3/ kind regards, Raven.... golfsierra2
New Logo I changed the logo of the Lock On Web Ring, hope you all like it. Would like to see more sites participating. Again: No advertising, no pop-ups ! Just a simple script that you put into the code of your main page, that's it ! The Web Ring is for consolidating the community, so please register your site today. Thanks ! kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
golfsierra2
I need a 120x120 version, the script is not PhP-Nuke compatible, so I'll need to make it external, thence the size restriction. Hi Thomas, sorry, there is no individual sizing available. The logo size is defined at the ring hub, so 'one size fits all', I cannot provide different sizes, the setup does only provide one logo configuration. But I noticed that in my browser (IE 6), your main page is interpreted as html, and it was easy to put a dummy script into your code. Please see here: ....
