Radio Homing question

When playing the Elbrus Rescue mission if I use the FM radio panel to Home and set the correct frequency (40.5 MHz), I get this continuous pulsating tone which doesn't stop. It's very annoying is there anything that I'm doing wrong? I just wanted to learn how to use the Radio for homing in on a signal.

Neither, it's more like a car alarm.

thats your low rpm warning.... i think you are using too much collective as you climb up the face of elbrus... get more forward airspeed and go gentle on collective.

@doom

I'm pretty certain it's not the Low RPM warning because it starts sounding when I change the FM frequency, while the chopper is sitting on the helipad.

You mean I should flip the squelch switch to DIS? Please elaborate, I'm new to the Radio and Nav panels.

I think you meant the volume. Watched a you tube tutorial on the subject and it seems that this noise is normal. However, I can't turn it off even if I change the frequency back to 30 Mhz and mode to TR.

Volume control should do it. You should be able to reduce it to where tone is drowned out by engine/rotor sounds.
