FUEL/MW tank bug

I really like new feature to be able to put gasoline to the MW tank  . But there is a problem in the total weight. Because you can use 75 kg of MW-50 or 118 liter of aviation fuel or you can even select this tank empty. But no matter what you will select you will always see the same wieght or same amount of fuel in the internal tanks (296 kg).

P.S. As usual don't get distracted by the language :D

Great !

This might certainly account also for some sort of CoG brought further behind than what it should using an empty MW50 tank!

Looking forward for this fix !!!

I cant imagine it will be a ton, but I would imagine there is some difference, whether we notice it during a flight I dont know.

As Otto has pointed out in the other thread, this still hasn't been fixed as of 1.5.2 / 2.0.

Did it ever actually get reported and added to the ED bug tracker?

Any news about this? .. Will we have any weight & balance tweaks coming soon?

I dont think anything changed to be honest. In mission editor it isnt working as far as I can tell and ingame it was working since a a few updates ago.

I am on open beta version 1.5.3.51171.34 and nothing changed for me compared to the previous version..

Edit: It does seem to work, but then the information is wrong that MW50 is loaded according to fuel%. The MW50 tank is either completely full or completely empty, however much fuel you load.

Edit2: Just checked. MW50 is added ingame according to fuel%, but mission editor always displays incorrectly as full MW.. Come on, ED.. Why not do it correctly the first time? But if its not on stable release yet, I think it should be an easy fix!

If you want to test for yourself, this is how I did. A full load MW50 takes 26 min till pressure drops and at around 28 min it is completely empty. Therefore if you load 10% fuel there should be enough MW50 for 26 * 10% = 2.6 min. Now add the remaining 2 min till complete depletion and you get around 4.6 min till the engine should start running rough. For a testflight add the external fuel tank, so you dont run out of fuel and after around 4.5 min the engine starts running rough. Just look at the onboard clock and speed it up. ;)

The changes are less drastic than I expected.

Now in the mission editor we can change the aircraft weight if we emptied the MW-50 tank, ..but this tank affects to Weight & balance only a little..

There is not big changes in elevator trim behaviour. Neutral Trim in zero, is not present in any condition of flight. contrary to the real airplane. Even when gliding out of fuel, DCS:Bf-109K4 remains with tail heavy attitude.

That statement is false mate, after all that months (years yet?) you haven't show any reference telling how you suppose real aircraft behaves. Furthermore, when you have showed German period charts those say actual behaviour is correct. Why don't you take some rest mate?

There were no flight model changes in this update as far as I can tell. The changes have been included since a few updates ago.

Fact is the MW50 weight in ME is still being displayed incorrectly. In the flight model it is adjusted according to fuet tank % and in ME it either shows the weight of the full or empty tank. Apparently this was not adressed after I reported this for the open beta last week. :noexpression:

As I understand it, the MW-50 contents are adjusted as you adjust the fuel slider. 50% fuel 50% MW50. I see the total weight change if I have 50% fuel with MW50 or without. I am sorry if I am not seeing your issue correctly.

Are you saying you want to see a separate indicator for the amount of MW50 loaded at any given percentage?

No separate indicator is necessary, siple test is enough.

I took 10% fuel and external fuel tank and I flew with full power with MW and MW ran out after approximately 5 minutes.

When i tried it without external fuel i was without fuel before MW ran out :)...

But MW pressure starts go down after approx. 2,5 min. in all cases with 10% fuel.

so, I think rel4y is right with his complain about MW

I would think in most cases, 10% fuel would run out before 10% MW50. Unless I am thinking about it wrong.

The percentage would (and probably should) be effected if you take external fuel, and if I understand how they did it, being that the % of MW50 is based on the percentage of fuel you took, internal or external.

I can't explain anything about trim in a paper no telling a thing about trim. But please don't start over again.

Indeed, I thought this was a MW50 tank thread...

My wish would be that you could decide the amount of MW50 separately from the main fuel amount, if possible.

It is not a large weight, and it might be practical to have full MW50 time, even when flying a short mission?

System specs:

Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use
