My thought is, it was a multiplayer test, with two pilots, where Wag sat in the back seat?

Would it be possible to get an official confirmation or comment, if it was a multiplayer test or not?

Nah. I think Wags would have mentioned if it were a multiplayer test.

Wags mentioned in the previous Video update that he prefers the view from the back seat.

very interesting to see how the clouds/rain whizz by the cockpit and seeing the cord inside the cockpit bounce around. looking forward to having both 1.5 and the L-39 on my computer!

Is the clouds/mist/rain whizzing past the cockpit new or have I just not noticed that in our current DCS: World engine?

So was the 1.5 released for openbeta version already? Or are you guys just talking about the future update?

Steam featuring OpenBeta is New, compared to my last discussions.

Public Openbeta is 1.2.16.xxx... But DCS 1.5 (introducing the new gfx engine) will be as Openbeta first, so people who don't participate in openbeta, currently, need to install Openbeta in parallel, switch their install to Openbeta (with loss of the current stable version) or wait for the release of 1.5 after the Openbeta has shown no major issues?

It's new. And it looks amazingly real! Love it just from watching it... :)

DCS World 2 + Weather engine

just tell me, will be possible to have Sea state conditions slaved to the preset meteo adjustments ? for example on the Ormuz map ? Would be really interesting the challenge of a pitching deck .

A lot better would be the chance of LIVE Weather streaming download ( like Active Sky into FSX ), but for the moment a good weather setting option is fine for me.

I don't think it is. Wags mentioned in one of YT replies to the clip that new weather effects haven't made it to the 1.5 yet. Clouds are clearly stock 1.2x, but I'm not sure about the mist as it's been months since I flew in similar conditions for the last time.

I'd say the mist is kind of new. You can get a similar effect now when you fly close to an overcast cloud base but I've never seen it at an intermediate altitude like in the video.

I think it already has been implemented to an extent in DCS World.

I really liked the lighting in that video. The slight purplish hue of the sun through the clouds was fantastic. Can't wait to replay some of the Black Shark missions with that lighting.

The mist/fog vanes are definitely new. That was what I thought we talked about?

Also new tree shadows and sun HDR effect...

Why is the sun is visible despite overcast weather? İt seems too bright for this weather and time.

I disagree, you dont know the conditions, it could have been heavy but not complete overcast, looking at the sun in those conditions can be quite bright, but its all still WIP as well.

When I saw the sun behind the clouds that makes me to ask this question.

Agree with you ,this is still WİP

Even in real life, clouds aren't opaque... I have seen many times where the clouds are thin enough to let the sun through.... even when its raining... only thing I can really see wrong right now is there isnt a rainbow somewhere :D

That and you wouldn't see the glare like you're staring into the bright sun with no cloud cover. The HDR effect seems to still be in full swing.

Again, I dont know the conditions and settings and such when the video was made, when you guys get 1.5, you can try it out then.

I lost count. The latest and last update is 1.2.9 I think. When 1.5 is released and since it is the new 2.0 minus the map, everything prior will become obsolete. There would not be any reason to install anything prior to 1.5 unless the latest update (1.2.9) is stable....errr post beta and would be a playable backup minus all the improvements that 1.5 brings.

Loading 1.2.9 and all the modules I have purchased on a partition and then when 1.5 is available can I load it onto another partition by itself and then any new updates would only update 1.5...is this going to be possible?

Will the modules I have purchased be available to the partition with 1.5 if all my modules are attached to the last updated version...1.2.9? Will they share?

Or are all the modules I have purchased have to be tweaked to work with 1.5??

Thanks

Laz

Let me clarify...I have not loaded any DCS world or any updates. I have purchased most of the modules but have never downloaded them or installed them. I have been waiting for 2.0. Now with the expected release of 1.5 brings my previous questions.

As stated I have lost count...thanks for the information on 1.2.16. Is this the latest stable update?

Do I have to have it on my machine to be able to load 1.5?

As previous indicated I want to load the last stable update onto its own partition.

Then I had hoped to load 1.5 onto its own partition. I do not know if 1.2.16 after I load all my purchased modules onto this update will be shared with 1.5????

Do I have to tweak my purchased modules to be able to use on 1.5?

Again since 1.5 is a completely different engine wont all the older updates not be compatible with 1.5....I am confused.

Thanks for any information. ( I have an older computer that I have the boxed versions of DCS on that I use....along with FC2.)

I have a new computer I want to use for DCS and several other games. But I want to load DCS 1.5/2.0 first and get it stable with all my equipment.

Laz :D

1.5 will be released in the beta branch first (iirc), which is a sepate install path for the most part, one can convert from release to open beta as previously discussed.

Running the latest version would be the better option, or install open beta when 1.5 is released to have it install fresh..
