jfri Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I'm considering FC3 or F15C standalone. First have I understood correctly that by getting only F15C standalone I will only miss the Georgia area apart from the other planes ? I might mention that I already have P51D Mustang and the A10-C. What is included with the planes in FC3 compared to the one I already have ? What about the learning step ? I find the two I have to be very difficult to use in combat. Does all of the planes have mission and training lessons like detailed planes ?
GeorgeLKMT Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 There's no map difference whatsoever, we all have the same stuff regardless of what module you have. All FC3 planes have campaigns, Su-33 actually two. There are a few single missions and instant action as well. Su-27 is the only plane that has interactive voiced tutorials. For the rest you'll have to read manual, look on youtube, or there's an ingame option to download super poor videos recorded from FC2. They're ugly, but it's better than nothing I guess. Learning curve is quite easy, with manual and a few tutorials you can learn the systems in a day imho. Of course, flying it and using it in combat effectively comes down to practice and takes time, especially with advanced flight models. But operating the systems really comes down to a few buttons rather than that crazy clickology like in A-10C ;) You can try Su-25T, with FC3 it's basically the same thing. ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
Boyezee Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Yeah the learning curve is quite gentle in FC3 - I found it a great way to break myself into DCS, the A10A was helpful to learn before I started the A10C For what you get it is very much worthwhile buying. Lizzard Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 One thing that concerns with Russian planes is the Russian language in the cockpit yes they changed it a few DCS versions back..but not a big problem for me..we have "subtitles":) My Specs: I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..
GeorgeLKMT Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) One thing that concerns with Russian planes is the Russian language in the cockpit If you're talking about cockpit textures, there are mods for that, downloadable from user files section. And you'll have english bitching betty and HUD if you set cockpit language to english in settings. Edited December 23, 2014 by GeorgeLKMT ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
jfri Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 yes they changed it a few DCS versions back..but not a big problem for me..we have "subtitles":) I was thinking about the text labels in the cockpit
luckyluca Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 ..but is there any chance that FC3 support might disappear in the future in favour of each individual modules (i.e. F15 dcs SU27 dcs A10A dcs etc.)? I'm just wondering whether upgrades to existing aircrats would come out sooner than let's FC4 or DCS: fighters :smilewink: Simultools
Lizzard Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) I was thinking about the text labels in the cockpit uhm yes...russian planes have russian lables (this is a sim you know:))..but there are no clickable cockpits..so not a big deal..but there are mods for the Su-27 and the Su-25(T) that change it to english..from our great friend Devrim-San Edited January 3, 2015 by Lizzard My Specs: I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..
