foxford Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Well, I know the importance of a joystick for a flight sim, and I had already bought one, of course. I need to travel very frequently due to some reason, and I have installed the sim on a laptop, unfortunately, carrying a joystick is not as convenient as a laptop, so, I'm considered as a joystickless user for most times. Couple of years ago, it was the age of LOFC2, I modified some key settings for elevator controls, you must wonder what I had done to the settings, you could never image, let me show the settings below: Arrow key up for "Trim Down" Arrow key down for "Trim Up" Now you can see that without joystick, where is nose up/down control? And don't you think this is just how I control the nose up/down? Why did I change the settings like this? That's all because of the function "Trim Reset", this is the only solution to reset the elevators back to the original angle. You can press Ctrl+T(Trim Reset) or quickly press "H" twice(Altitude Hold). Since DCS World v1.2.12, the function "Trim Reset" has become unavailable, and I have no idea how to reset elevators quickly and accurately without a joystick. So, I strongly suggest the developers to add an action to reset elevators for joystickless users. Another suggestion: For reality, the flaps should be set to some specified positions, for example, if not heavy loaded, flaps don't need to be set to full position during take off. I can remember in LOFC v1.1.1 and earlier versions, F-15C's flaps can be set down to half position. And the last question: In Key Settings for F-15C's Autopilot, there are 2 actions both named "Altitude Hold", is that an error?
Azrayen Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Hi, Last time I checked the CTRL+T was still there... Which aircraft? I mostly fly Su-27s. Disagree. For reality, it's fine now. Not every aircraft has multiple flaps settings IRL. Are you sure they both read "Altitude"? With an L?
KLR Rico Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 You should take a gamepad with you. Way easier than just the keyboard yet easy to pack. I know that's not an answer to your question, but until there's an elevator reset key, what else can you do? :D i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
Bulldog_1 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The F-15 flaps have only two positions, UP or DOWN. Nothing else. There is no trim reset either. EagleFox Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I think there is trim reset and it is working.
Stealth_HR Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The only two jets that have trim reset disabled, to my knowledge, are the Su-25 and Su-25T, which is supposed to be realistic. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Real men fly ground attack :pilotfly: where EVERYTHING wants a piece of you :D

Not every aircraft has multiple flaps settings IRL. Are you sure they both read "Altitude"? With an L? F-15C, you won't find "Ctrl+T" or other key settings for trim reset. Sorry for not mentioning the aircraft. I'm sure F-15C can set flaps to half down, and you can find it in LOFC v1.11 and earlier versions. Attitude Hold, my mistake
