In detail, here goes;

Tools you may need

A decent text editor, like Notepad ++ http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v6.7.4.html

JGSME to make life easy for adding/removing your weapon tweek (especially before/after official updates. 1st on the list of this thread - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127098&highlight=jgsme

Material you will need

Su-25T.lua file

and to make things easier here

Su-27.lua

Both can be found here; DCS World/Scripts/Database/planes

A basic understanding of what you need to do

These aircraft .lua files contain (among other information) the data DCS World needs to put a weapon/pylon combination together for you to select in the DCSW editor.

So you need to open your .lua file with your text editor and add the necessary weapon data to your chosen pylon, then save your edit & test fly.*

*It is however a sensible idea to at least make a backup copy of the original file. This is where JGSME is great as you never need to alter any original files.

Method

1.To open your .lua file with your text editor, you might first have to right click after selecting it and choose "Open with...". Tick the box to make it permanent and you'll be good to go with a normal double left click thereafter.

2. Scroll down until you get to pylon 2, like this;

pylon(2, 0, -0.610000, -0.325000, -4.359000,

{

FiZ = -3,

arg = 309,

},

{

{ CLSID = "B-8M1 - 20 S-8OFP2" },

{ CLSID = "{FB3CE165-BF07-4979-887C-92B87F13276B}" },

{ CLSID = "{0511E528-EA28-4caf-A212-00D1408DF10A}" },

{ CLSID = "{29A828E2-C6BB-11d8-9897-000476191836}" },

{ CLSID = "{3C612111-C7AD-476E-8A8E-2485812F4E5C}" },

{ CLSID = "{4203753.........

You will notice that all the pylons are full of CLSID entries like above that make little sense to you or me.

3. Open your Su-27.lua file.

Now scroll down to pylon 3 like this;

pylon(3, 0, -1.137000, -0.321000, -4.524000,

{

arg = 310 ,arg_value = 0,

use_full_connector_position = true,

},

{

{ CLSID = "{FBC29BFE-3D24-4C64-B81D-941239D12249}" , arg_value = 0.3}, --R-73

{ CLSID = "{9B25D316-0434-4954-868F-D51DB1A38DF0}" }, --R-27R

{ CLSID = "{88DAC840-9F75-4531-8689-B46E64E42E53}" }, --R-27T

{ CLSID = "{E8069896-8435-4B90-95C0-01A03AE6E400}" }, --R-27ER

{ CLSID = "{B79C379A-9E87-4E50-A1EE-7F7E29C2E87A}" }, --R-27ET

Here you will notice that the programmer had kindly left us a clue as to what each CSLID number means.

4. Copy the required CSLID code from your Su-27.lua file like this;

{ CLSID = "{B79C379A-9E87-4E50-A1EE-7F7E29C2E87A}" }, --R-27ET

and paste it into a suitable pylon in your Su-25T.lua file, I added it to the bottom of the list like this;

pylon(2, 0, -0.610000, -0.325000, -4.359000,

{

FiZ = -3,

arg = 309,

},

{

{ CLSID = "B-8M1 - 20 S-8OFP2" },

{ CLSID = "{FB3CE165-BF07-4979-887C-92B87F13276B}" },

{ CLSID = "{0511E528-EA28-4caf-A212-00D1408DF10A}" },

{ CLSID = "{29A828E2-C6BB-11d8-9897-000476191836}" },

{ CLSID = "{3C612111-C7AD-476E-8A8E-2485812F4E5C}" },

{ CLSID = "{4203753F-8198-4E85-9924-6F8FF679F9FF}" },

{ CLSID = "{37DCC01E-9E02-432F-B61D-10C166CA2798}" },

{ CLSID = "{D5435F26-F120-4FA3-9867-34ACE562EF1B}" },

{ CLSID = "{7AEC222D-C523-425e-B714-719C0D1EB14D}" },

{ CLSID = "{35B698AC-9FEF-4EC4-AD29-484A0085F62B}" },

{ CLSID = "{BD289E34-DF84-4C5E-9220-4B14C346E79D}" },

{ CLSID = "{96A7F676-F956-404A-AD04-F33FB2C74884}" },

{ CLSID = "{96A7F676-F956-404A-AD04-F33FB2C74881}" },

{ CLSID = "{637334E4-AB5A-47C0-83A6-51B7F1DF3CD5}" },

{ CLSID = "{F72F47E5-C83A-4B85-96ED-D3E46671EE9A}" },

{ CLSID = "{FC56DF80-9B09-44C5-8976-DCFAFF219062}" },

{ CLSID = "{3858707D-F5D5-4bbb-BDD8-ABB0530EBC7C}" },

{ CLSID = "{A0648264-4BC0-4EE8-A543-D119F6BA4257}" },

{ CLSID = "{3DFB7320-AB0E-11d7-9897-000476191836}" },

{ CLSID = "{0180F983-C14A-11d8-9897-000476191836}" },

{ CLSID = "{CBC29BFE-3D24-4C64-B81D-941239D12249}" },

{ CLSID = "{B79C379A-9E87-4E50-A1EE-7F7E29C2E87A}" }, --R-27ET

}

5. Repeat for other pylons.

6. Save edits and test fly.

Notes

I put the R-27ET onto pylon 2 in the Su-25T as it is the second pylon from the, (left I think), wing-tip. The opposite side would be pylon 10.

If you look at how many CLSID entries there are on a given pylon it can help you figure out where on the aircraft that pylon is. Eg. Pylon 6 has only two entries so we can say that it is the centreline pylon that carries either of the two large pods.

Not all weapon will work on all aircraft. E.g. A radar guided weapon needs an aircraft that has radar. Even then it's not always sure to work.

Hope this helps.

As it sounds like a fun idea I made the tweak for my own use, putting the R-27ET on the pylons that already offer the R-60M or R-73 as options. I tested it and it works just fine.

I attach this little mod ready for use with JGSME (folder structure) so that you can use it as an example.

No worries, your welcome. These text edits are the easiest mods you can do (once you know what to do) but they can provide a lot of fun.

I spent a bit of time fooling around with this since then and came up with some other stuff you may well enjoy. Things got cut short with the 1.2.15 update going wrong for me and I'm currently trying to get it working again.

Anyhow, now you know what your doing you might want to try some of these ideas;

As you were looking for better A2A for the Su-25T, I remembered that the MiG-31 has some good IR missiles. It has pylons that carry 2 R-60's which are symmetrical, ie. one stack leans to the left & the other to the right. You will have to take that into account when editing.

Also it has the R-40T which is a beast of a missile with a 30 km range and a 70kg warhead which 9kgs heavier than the warhead on am AIM-54 Phoenix (F-14 Tomact missile) is supposed to be the most potent ever made. And I think 30kms is more than plenty in the Su-25 which has no BVR capabilites.

So here are a few codes to play with:

{ CLSID = "{B0DBC591-0F52-4F7D-AD7B-51E67725FB81}" }, --R-60*2port

{ CLSID = "{275A2855-4A79-4B2D-B082-91EA2ADF4691}" }, --R-60*2stbd

Like I said these are double R-60's and opposites. Look best with port for pylon 1 and stbd for pylon 11 but you can put them anywhere (except pylon 6 for some reason)

{ CLSID = "{5F26DBC2-FB43-4153-92DE-6BBCE26CB0FF}" }, --R-40T

Looks good on inner pylons 5 & 7 or 4 & 8 as it's a large missile.

{ CLSID = "{88DAC840-9F75-4531-8689-B46E64E42E53}" }, --R-27T

Slightly smaller than the R-27ET

More on this when I get back up and running.

Have fun.

I've been searching for a mod and can't find one, but I'm looking for for a way to add More vikhrs to the ka50. Like converting the other pylons that can only carry rockets to now carry vikrs. This way, the ka50 can now carry 24 vikrs, 6 on each of the 4 pylons.

How would I do that ? I think the lua file above is on the right track ?

Done! Just put and overwrite this Ka-50.lua in your DCSW/scripts/database/helicopters but before backup your file. Tested with DCSW 1.2.16 :joystick::pilotfly:

Sounds good, it worked seamlessly. I tested it in both mp and sp, I could probaly put it in folders so I could line it up with Jones soft mod installer thing.
