How to jettison fuel drop tanks?

This is causing a headache at the moment,it's probably something really straight forward,but how does one jettison the drop tanks,is it done via your 'Weapon Release Button' ?

On the panel in front of the joystick there is a switch in the upper right. Turn that on (up), and then open the red cover on the jettison button, and push it.

 

Also, make sure the switch on the right side switch panel is on too - just switch all those on at start up.
