I am 28 yeas old. Top Gun was in theaters in the year of 1986 (the year I was born). I watch it later (as far I remember with 6 y-o) bur probably I viewed it earlier since I recall to see the Gulf war apaches in TV I surely saw Top Gun earlier.

So... Thank you. I've been waiting for the ultimate experience of flying an F-14. Take your time and do one of the best modules for DCS (I know you'll deliver since you already done so).

OH YEAH! I FEEL THE NEED, THE NEED FOR SPEED!

Wow, what an announcement and what a thread... 52 pages and counting with plenty of grins and smiles along the way.

Is there anything Sexier than a TomCat with her wings fully swept back?

Yes, a Tornado with it's wings swept :music_whistling:

The Tomcat is indeed an iconic aircraft and I've always liked it since seeing TopGun as a kid.

However with the benefit to age and experience I can see TopGun for the Hollywood tosh it is.

nice aircraft, crappy dialog and script.

One of the first you tube videos I ever saw was one of the "topgun is gay" videos which must be 8 years ago which Tarantino's sums up as only he can in the video earlier in this thread.

nice work Leatherneck look forward to throwing money at you! :pilotfly:

Instant buy here, I've not been more excited about a module since the Huey was announced. Don't think I've ever seen so many positive posts and such excitement from any module since I started simming, which in itself must show this is a damn good choice.

Hell if you allow pre orders, then you can have the money straight away. :)

Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros.

Totally agree, amazing to see all the support. If a pre-order system is put in place, I'll be in.

Can't honestly say that the F-14 is my favourite aircraft but with the quality of work evident on the Mig-21, the F-14 will be a day-1 purchase for me. Don't care how much it costs. And with the potential of another theatre as well! You guys rock!

Might as well waste some space after all these posts and give my thumbs up.

Cockpit done, 3d model looking good... 1 year estimate to complete systems and shit.. It looks even possible to do :megalol: And ED doing fine with the F/A-18... sooo around christmas 2015 there are going be be a lot of backrupt and divorced guys hiding in their darkened rooms and keeping up the foreign relations :joystick::pilotfly:?

I was going to play ETS2 and deliver some loads but maybe I'll just fire up my home theatre and watch TOP GUN until gf wakes up and kills me as a happy man...

Bah, it's still better than Flight of the Intruder ;)

"Flight of the Intruder" was a pretty good book IMO. The movie sucked big time, though, didn't catch the atmosphere and wildly changed things around. :(

On another note... do you guys know the feeling when x-mas is getting close and you wanna travel back in time and murder George Michael so that "Last Christmas" will never have been recorded? I'm feeling that way about Kenny Loggins right now. Whenever there's a Youtube link I'm like "Cool, new Tomcat porn!" but then it's "Highway to the Danger Zone" all over again... is this the birth of "Kennyrolling"? :music_whistling: :D

they said MAYBE.

As you can see in the renders; the Phoenix rails have bombcat extensions modelled and ready to go.

We hope to include the Bombcat upgrade, but this will be subject to available research.

Yep, subject to search...

Why are people so caught-up on A-G in a Tomcat, of all planes?

Strong desire for a somewhat modern multi-role aircraft. Peoples opinions vary.

My buddy is a die hard F-14 fan. He thinks equipping bombs on an F-14 is sacrilege.

But I think putting a GBU or two on a Tomcat, fighting your way in, taking out a key target or two, and fighting your way out would be a lot of fun. It was apparently a great strike aircraft from what I read. It would be a shame not to be able to use that functionality in the sim.

Edit: with the F/A-18C coming we also have that option, so if they aren't able to produce a bombcat for some reason my disappointment will be tempered. I want both, but I am _really_ looking forward to the F/A-18C.
