Mapping comms F1-F12 keys to hotas

Recommended Posts

is it possible? I want to map F1 (Wingman), F5 (ATC), F11 back, F12 exit to hotas. I think in AI dogfights with AI wingman, timing can be of the essence, with radio commands like "pump" can help me and my wingman synchronize our attacks.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

You can only do it with a HOTAS that you program to send the appropriate keystrokes. The radio commands only exist when the radio menu is active (on screen), which is why they don't have entries in the Options>Controls screens.

I have DWVAC, but mostly because of my accent (Arab) it misinterprets commands... For example saying wingman can be interpreted as winlab.... microsoft....

TIP on using VR software

If DWVAC uses the Microsoft voice recognition engine, you should use the voice training (under setup microphone). the more you repeat the setup, the better your voice is understood. I have trouble speaking clearly, but have little problem. I use Voice Attack, you should buy the program ($8.00 US) to get full functionality.

Don't give me a P-38,

The props they counter-rotate,

They're battered and smitten from Burma to Britain.

Oh, give me operations way out on some lonely atoll,

For I am too young to die, I just want to grow old.

Thanks man. I shall do as you say (yes I own DWVAC). I'll report back. How long does it take to get accustomed to my voice?
