Cool Breeze Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Wow! Great find! MiG21bisFishbedL Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 This particular B-17 was converted into Liberty Belle. However, it crashed in a field in Illinois, sadly. IIRC, at least. Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
joey45 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Converted B-17 to a engine testbed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pratt_%26_Whitney_T34 The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. SilentGun Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Umm... I think the designers were a little bit drunk to come up with this monstrosity :) Nose surgeons all over the world are cringing at what they have done :P Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Blaze Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) The XB-38 with 4 Allison V-1710-89 engines was my favorite B-17 modification/experiment. In case the Wright R-1820 radial engines became scarce.
