Slayer_42
Hey there! Just wondering what kind of load the track IR has on PC. I have a fairly low end system and was wondering if its worth buying a track IR. Will post system specs ASAP. Cheers in advance.
King_Hrothgar
My experience is it uses basically nothing.
Pikey
i'm looking at mine right now and its reading 15-20% CPU. with the software maximised... and a few CPU% without. Interesting the software display has a large impact. King_Hrothgar
It probably uses CPU only for the little graphics it does display. I checked CPU usage while running DCS and the profile screen closed. Came up as 0% on my system, specs in my signature.
BMCha
Unlike most (or is it all?) of the other optical headtracking solutions, TrackIR does the point tracking in hardware and just sends that data to the PC to be turned into position and orientation, so the CPU usage on your end is minimal. Slayer_42
Awesome! Thanks everybody for your replies. Im looking at buying one when im able, track IR is extremely expensive in New Zealand but using a coolie hat to quickly look for incoming fire is becoming totally unacceptable haha!
