tmansteve Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Is it possible to have 2 installs of the sim with modules installed so you keep a clean install just in case a mod doesn't work or you can test without ruining the original?
zaelu Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 why not use JSGME? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607 Also, I don't think you can have 2 installs (even for DCS World bare bone which is free) but you can copy the entire folder for backup. However... JSGME is the way to go. txmtb Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Check out post #2, think this will do what you want. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=141811 Edit: Oh yea, you will have to use a separate JSGME install for both versions, same as with the beta if you have that installed also. cichlidfan Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Yes. Use the information linked in txmtb's post and you can have as many installations, using the same or different versions, as you wish. I currently have four or five versions as well as the Open Beta. Each also has their own JSGME mods setup. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
Morpheus Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Hi, i Have four installations of DCS and only one JSGME, I just have JSGME shortcuts for every one and it works fine. :smilewink:
tmansteve Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Thats great thanks. It's good to use JSGME but as I said, if you make a mistake or a mod screws up your install, game over. Cheers
