WEAPONS WONT ARM

Hi,

am a newbie to DCS, and i have a problem with arming my weapons.

i expect them to be armed when i select the Ground mode but nothing happens. They just remain in their ORANGE colour state.

Please help.

I don't remember this feature to be implemented.

What happens if you try to shoot them anyway?

Which weapons?

Where do you expect orange to change to something else?

When you select ground mode did you also try to change wepon and see if you get green lights?

Hello,

All the weapons status are in orange rather than green when they are armed. I cycle through the lot and yet all remain the same. And non fire at all. For the unguided bombs even the targeting reticle does not even come on with the tv on.

When you look at the weapons symbols on the weapons platform where you see all your loaded weapons on your wings, the moment you first press A2G mode the selected weapons will show an orange light below it. That orange light remains through the flight regardless of what i do to rurn into green as seen in the tutorials before firing any of them.

I tried and did get as you say orange light when weapon is selected.

 

Do you press key 7 to get to A2G mode? or do you have it maped on joystick, try key 7 and see what happend.

Ya, I believe the orange is just the selected weapon. There is no "arming" in the Su-25T. Once it's selected, it is armed. The reason you may not be able to fire/launch a weapon is because you are not within the launching parameters. You mentioned not seeing the bomb reticle. This could just mean you are not travelling fast enough or at a steep enough angle.

 

Also, for some missiles, you need to have the laser activated and you also need to hold the weapon release button until it launches. Just tapping the button isn't sufficient.

I am assuming you're using the Su-25T?

AFAIK the "TV" is used for guided weapons, in combination with the laser designator.

 

The unguided bombs need to be released in CCIP (continuously computed impact point) or CCRP (continuously computed release point).

 

Which weapons are you trying to employ exactly? Because every type has a different employment method.

 

I'd suggest trying the unguided rockets to see if it actually works, because they're the simplest to use. Make sure you are in range or override the launch.

 

It is also imperative that you go trough the manual of said aircraft for the correct procedures and parameters.
