LAN SETUP

Ok guys, I don't know if im being dumb here but can someone please just talk me through setting up a LAN game step by step please?

 

Pc's see each other on the same home network

What seems to be the problem?

 

One PC will host, one will join. The hosting PC will create a game, use the local LAN IP of the box hosting. Then have the client machine join using that IP.

 

Once you actually state what the issue is we can get into troubleshooting connections, firewalls, game settings etc....

that's true lol what I did was on both pcs login, (both separate dcs accounts) set both pc's to LAN in options. one pc hosts and creates game, the client joins by IP. but the client gets a message, cant connect.

Is there an internet connection? Even for LAN play the computers need to "reach out" for verification.

 

Try disabling Windows Firewall and any other type of antivirus software. Can the PC's ping each other?
